Good giraffe names

Last updated: Apr 27, 2018

Yes, this is serious business if you have a giraffe. So what are the most popular giraffe names anyway? And what's your vote for the top name?

Here's the list

  • Spot
  • Bao
  • Lawrence Longneck
  • Margarita Sanchez
  • Stretch
  • Slim
  • G-Spot
  • Long Reach
  • Daddy Long Legs
  • Shorty
  • Audrey Hepburn
  • Sky
  • Jeffrey
  • Numbolelo
  • Finn
  • Tiny

Can you think of more?

How about a giraffe joke?

Old Cliffie had a giraffe once. He called it Big Spender because every time he took it to a bar it would shout "The highballs are on me!"

It also makes a difference if the giraffe is male or female. Want a whole list of pet giraffe names? There's an entire website dedicated to pet names!

Giraffe Names

Here's the original discussion:

profile member asked on Dec 14, 2006

If you had a giraffe, what would you name it?

This is a serious question. A friend wants a giraffe, and she wants me to come up with a name, and I can't. I've only owned dogs and fish. Spot might be a good name, but that's all I can come up with.

So I'll ask y'all, I know you guys can come up with a better name than Spot. Just one answer...per favore.

I'd alter the name a bit and call it " G - Spot "

for a more detailed visual as to the why:

Don't know how it happened but my answer didn't turn up.
The names I suggest are either 'stretch' or 'long reach'.

Much to my friends dismay, I couldn't resist...I mean, how many times does one get such an opportunity?
Hmm...about as many as actually being able to use it in a thread such as this!

Now I know that the internet really is for people with too much time on their hands.

Would you believe there is a website to help your friend with her problem?

Ok, (and I have to ask this of you lads),

What in God's name would prompt you to search out an actual site with Giraffe names?!? More bizarre than that, I've read it, looked it up, yes it's there and I'M REPLYING TO IT! Ok, I really do have to go now, off to work.

I´m just killing time here and decided what would a quick google search on giraffe names throw up.

I´m one of those people who follows ideas through to their logical(if that´s appropriate here) conclusion.

I can see the point that who is worse? the giraffe name webpage maker or me seeking it out.

Does anyone really get a giraffe for a pet?

I'll check out that site when I get a chance....when I can look at home and the department isn't wondering why I'm going to a giraffe pet name site.

Though Audrey Hepburn is a nice one too. Loved her in Roman Holiday, maybe I'll find out her name in that movie....might be fitting. ;)

There are 214 suggestion on that site and not a Slim, Stretch, or Audrey Hepburn among them.

"Sky" would do as you would have to look up toward the sky to see the giraffe's face. BTW "Roman Holiday" name for AH was Princess Ann.
