1. Which little trip could I make?
2. Do you know a reliable travel agent who could organize it?

We are a group of three, in June we'll visit Bali. During the last week we would like to go from Bali by ferry to Java and then to Yogyakarta to visit its wonderful temples. Is it tough by car? How long can it take? How are the road conditions in that area? Better to use public transport or a private car with a local driver? How much it costs more or less?
We are looking at going into yogyakarta in August to see Borobudur and Prambanan and other sites and wish to find out if independant travel is possible in this area of Indonesia. We will be coming from Australia via Bali. Any information on how to get there and travel around and back overland to Bali would be greatly appreciated.
This will be my first visit to Indonesia especially Jogyakarta.
I am anxious and excited to visit that place in 2 days.
So now I want to collect as many information as I can.

4) Any good shopping compleks/factory outlet?
We're a group of 8 booked our flights to Yogyakarta come September. We're keen on visiting Mt.Bromo's crater. I've worked out an itinerary Yogyakarta-Solo-Bromo within 4 days! Also on our wish-list is to visit Mt.Ijen's crater and at least be able to enjoy 'seeing' the other mountains, especially the site of Merapi. We reckon driving to Bromo would be 10-14hrs from Yogyakarta. Can somebody please tell me if there is a better alternative? Mt. Bromo is the highlight of our tour, so we can't opt that out but in 3 days, are we crazy? And a bit of shopping plus city-site-seeing would also cheer the group members.
Hi, I'm going to Yogja on 15th June. Is it easy to get taxis from the airport to go to Ibis Malioboro ? We have 4 adults and 3 children. How much is the taxi fare ?

Hi, my husband and I already booked return tickets with Airasia: from Jakarta reach Jogja at 7am 31 jan 2010, from Jogja back to Jakarta at 14:10pm 01 feb 2011. We plan to book a tour to Borobudur - Prambanan for 02D/1N and we've email some tour agents and receive a feedback as below:
day 1: arrival at Yogyakarta airport transfer to visit Prambanan and transfer to Manohara Resort
day 2: Borobudur Sunrise tour and Yogyakarta city tour and transfer to Airport for flight back to Jakarta
1. Hotel room at Manohara
2. Admission fees
3. Tour guide
1. Tipping for tour guide and driver
2 Dinner and Lunch
3. Air Tickets
Total price is US 280 for 2 person
How do you think about the price of the tour package? Is it too expensive or reasonable? Hope somebody can help us.
Many thanks :)
I’m travelling to Jogja next month for a short family vacation and will be staying 5D/4N. I’m hoping that experienced travellers would be able to help me put together an itinerary.
There are 5 of us altogether – my parents-in-law, my wife, teenage daughter & I. We’ve already settled accommodation & am trying to book Ukhi as driver as there seems to be favourable feedback about his service on this forum.
Because my in-laws are elderly I intend to take things easy. So no packed tours where we leave the hotel in the morning and return only after dinner. I would like some flexibility so that should they wish we can return to the hotel for them to rest before venturing out again.
Having said all that, Borobodur & Prambanan are “must-sees” as far as we’re concerned. Everything else is optional.
Here are some questions which I need answers to in order to plan the trip:
1. We are arriving in the afternoon ETA about 2pm, check into hotel at about 3 or 4 by my estimate. What can we do in the later afternoon & evening, and any recommended eatery for dinner? What I was thinking of is to stroll around town at some interesting place, have dinner then return to hotel.
2. Borobodur: I’ve read that in order to avoid the crowds it’s best to get there at about 6 am when the gates are opened. How long would it take to drive there from Jogja, assuming we have a car + driver? How much time should we cater to view the place? Would 2 hours there be sufficient?
3. Similarly for Prambanan – how long is the drive there, and what is a reasonable amount of time to spend there?
4. For Borobodur and Prambanan, are there any other sights we could see along the way? A detour is ok so long as the time taken is reasonable.
5. Other sights that we are considering to visit, would appreciate some comments on whether it’s worth the time or “don’t bother”:
- Kraton palace
- Taman Sari
- Jalan Malioboro (is this a tourist trap?)
- Any museums of note?
6. My daughter might be interested in white water rafting. Are the tours here as professionally run as those in NZ (which I’ve been on before)?
7. Finally, what’s your advice if we wanted to do a day trip to Solo? Is it worth the time?
I wish to stay in Nganjuk with my family for a few days. Is it possible to catch a train from Nganjuk to Yogya? If so, what time do the trains leave Nganjuk?
someone knows what time the bus leave from Yogya to denpasr? thank you!

Hi fellow travellers,
We will be travelling to Yogyakarta in March 2010. We are travelling free and easy and will depart from CGK airport to Yogyakarta in the evening. We need your help:
(a)On arrival, we get a taxi to bring us to Manohara Hotel for checkin and visit the Prambanan Theatre for a show. After the show we return to the hotel to spend the night and early next morning, climb Borobudur for the sunrise. After that we check out of hotel and proceed to another hotel, perhaps Hotel Bhinneka and spend the afternoon patrolling the streets of Malioboro. Is my plan doable?
b)What Chinese restaurants can you recommend. What dinner can Aman offer?
c)What tours would you recommend beside Borobudur and Pramanan site?
Thank you very much.
anyone have been there?

Also is there any travel agency provide Bromo-Yogya transportation and what is the rate for that period?
