Looking for a local Guide in Yalta, we will be arriving on a cruise to Yalta Port Oct. 4, 2014 7:00 AM and leacing same day at 7:00 PM
Hello A friend and I are looking to visit Yalta in late March 2014 and we were wondering if it busy then in terms of nightlife etc.. or is it just during the summer months ? thanks ken
Thank you to everyone who have given suggestions for Yalta. I am still a little confused about whether to take a private tour guide or try to do this on our own. We would like to take the ferry over to Swallow's Nest as I have heard it is a nice way to see it. We would like to go to Livadia Palace as well. I am a bit confused as to how to get from Swallow;s Nest to the palace. Is it easy to get public transit ..ie..a bus or taxi? Then from the palace back to port...could a bus or taxi take us there? In reading some suggestions on other sights, this seemed a little confusing to take a bus.
Also, is there anything else we are missing as far as must see sights? Should we take a private tour? If so, any suggestions? Have tried a few but would like some more suggestions.
Is there a way to get from Swallows nest to Livadia palace using public transit? Also can we get from Livadia palace to the port by way of public transit?
Trying to see some sights of Yalta on our own. Heard it is nice to take the ferry from pier 9 to Swallows nest. We then thought we could hop over to the Livadia palace then back to port. Is this a good idea?
Is it possible to walk from Swallows Nest to Livadia palace? We will be taking the ferry to Swallow's Nest.
Is there public transit to take from Livadia palace back to the port? What would be the approximate cost of this?
Is it advisable to use a tour guide for the day in Yalta or would it be okay to use a taxi to take us to Swallows nest and Lavidia castle?
Got a quote from Crimean consulting for a day tour...are they reputable?
what is the cost of the admission to the castle?

I have to find a hotel with 24/7 Internet access in a room.
Some of them offer Internet access as a separate service, i.e. somewhere in the hall and I don't expect it to be really available.
Could anyone name a hotel with such service? Actually I would go anywhere in Crimea to let my daughter have a vacation while I work...
So I am interested not only in Yalta's hotels.
Or are there any other reliable options of Internet acces in anywhere in Crimea? Points of access?

I come regularly to Yalta in the summer time. I enjoyed this town a lot. The lodging conditions are getting worse and worse every year. At the beginning I was renting quite good flats close to the beach for about 35 a day. Last summe it aws up to 100 a day. Hotels are even more expensive. Any tips, suggestions or help to beat up the inflation in flats renting ? Best regards. Herve from France
