Bus services between Denver and Lander  (18 Answers)

Family Reunion  (2 Answers)

I am looking for a facility, preferibly in the mountains, in WY where we can have a family reunion for up to 60 people. A camp with cabins and a lodge where we could do our own cooking would be ideal. Does anybody have any ideas or know of a place where I can find more info? Thanks!

Location for SMALL quiet Cowboy Wedding  (2 Answers)

Hi, we are looking for recommendations for a ranch or B&B where we could have our wedding/honeymoon in a few months. We want a western/cowboy ambiance, lots of trees, water, horses, etc. VERY small wedding party, 6 or less, and we need economical rates. Southern Wyoming area would be great. Any Recommendations?

Camping in the Bighorn National Forest  (2 Answers)

We're driving through Wyoming the last week of June and I'd like to spend a couple of days camping and hiking in the Bighorn National Forest.

Any recommendations for a particular campground in the national forest. We're tent camping out of our truck and don't need hook ups or anything like that. We just love beautiful, quiet campgrounds.

We're also interested in any good, shorter (1-3mi) hiking trails.

Thanks for any help! I can't find much on the campgrounds on the internet.

US14 or US14 ALT?  (6 Answers)

My friend and I will be heading out to Bozeman and Yellowstone from New Jersey by car in a few weeks. I've been out in the area before and loved every second of the beautiful scenery. Heading back east, we'll be passing through the Bighorns. Two years ago, we took US 14, the more southerly through them and it was amazing. I can't decide if I want to change it up a bit and take 14A or just stick to what I know to be amazing and hang onto 14?

I'd like some input on whether 14a worth the change or if I should just take 14 again?
What's everyone else's personal suggestion?

Any help would be great.
Thanks

Yellowstone park accommodation  (5 Answers)

More problems with accommodation inside parks during August!. Yellowstone Park is full. I have seen more hotels at West Yellowstone, but I don’t know if it’s convenient to visit the park or there are other towns with better communication.
Thanks in advance

Wyoming Road 789  (2 Answers)

Hello all. I am driving July 20, East on 80 (from UT) and was thinking of taking 789/13 down to my destination in Carbondale, CO. I am traveling by myself (female), compact car. My question is, is this a safe, reliable road and what can I expect in terms of hours to get from 80/789/13, south to Hwy 70 (CO)? I hear it is an amazingly beautiful road. Thanks in advance for any advice you can give. Char

Best way (Driving from Houston, Texas) to see Yellowstone, Badlands, & Mt. Rushmore  (2 Answers)

We've done Utah-very pretty; actually awesome. Love Colorado. Looking for something different-we have about 10 days-really want to see Yellowstone-would like to try to see Mount Rushmore. 17 year-old daughter is stuck in car with parents, but loves to read. Husband used to night shift. Will be driving at night from Texas. What else should we see? How would you do it? What should we see? Can it be done?

Why are the hotel and RV park rates twice the price in Rawlins WY as compared to other Wyoming towns ? - not to mention horrible service and rude people.

Driving from Cheyenne to Jackson...which route???? HELP  (5 Answers)

Every map site I can find (google, mapquest, AAA etc) says that quickest route is through Rawlins on I-80 and then up 287, rather than I-80 to Rock Springs and North on 191 to Jackson. By quickest, Google says the 287 route is almost 1 hour faster. I've never driven this stretch but my gut is 191 is faster, they're the same amount of miles and staying on I-80 longer seems to me to ensure a faster trip. Maps.google.com says to expect an average speed of 41 mph on the 191 route, can this be? Another negative of the untrained eye with 287 is having to drive the distance of Grand Teton to come south in Jackson. With my research both 287 and 191 seem to by 65 MPH speed limit roads.
What am I missing here? it's like all the mapping systems are drawing off a flawed assumption. Even my GPS says to go 287.
Another factor is there seems to be about 4 construction projects going on along the 287 route, which I would think I'd be best avoiding.
Can someone with experience help? I'm rolling through in 3 weeks.

Thanks much!

Road trip to Wyoming, Oregon and Utah in January - Will it be too cold?  (4 Answers)

My finace and I are planning a 3 week or so trip to Wyoming, Oregon and Utah in January. We are Aussies and would love to see those areas by way of car and maybe cheap flights (if there are any). What I want to know is if January will be far too cold and if anyone can recommend a road trip itinerary. We visited LA and Las Vegas in January last year. I know other times of the year would be better but this is the only time we can both get away for that long. We are more interested in rural areas than cities. Thanks.

ALTITUDE ISSUES?  (6 Answers)

I'M PLANNING A TRIP IN EARLY DEC. TO THE JACKSON AREA, FLYING IN FROM SALT LAKE CITY AND DRIVING INTO WYOMING.I'VE READ A LOT ABOUT THE HIGH ELEVATIONS IN THE AREA AND WONDER IF THERE'S REASON TO BE CONCERNED. I'M ONLY COMING IN FOR A WEEK, SO OBVIOUSLY DON'T HAVE EXTRA TIME TO SPEND ACCLIMATING, AS HAS BEEN SUGGESTED. I'M GOING MORE FOR PHOTO OPS AS OPPOSED TO SKIING, HIKING ETC.
ANY FEEDBACK WOULD BE APPRECIATED!

East Entrance  (7 Answers)

Oh dear, we are staying in Cody and planned a full day out entering at the East entrance. It seems from what I am reading there is nothing there? Please help as we have no idea whatsoever about what to see in the park. We thought we could do the initial loop we see which ends at fishing point? That would make a total day trip of over 200 miles. We cannot find anywhere to stay near west entrance on the days we are there either. Help.....

Any more info on Wyoming please.....  (4 Answers)

Further to my previous post which was answered by one person, thank you so much for your input. However, I would like to know a bit more about Wyoming. Please anybody out there, can you give me some more info. Restuarants, places not to miss. This may be our only time to visit Wyoming so I want to make the most of it. Looking forward to the rodeo in Cody, wont be there for the stampede, but probably better as it wont be so crowded, ? Thanks.

Our trip to Wyoming June 2007  (2 Answers)

Hi there, any recommendations please. This is our first trip to Wyoming. We stay in Jackson Hole one night, then have four nights in Cody, followed by a last night in Jackson Hole. Any eating recommendations? We want to go to the rodeo, perhaps on my birthday 28 June would be nice. Heard about Yellowstone Park so obviously that is a must. Any other things we should really see? We like all sorts of towns, we are 50/54 years old and have back problems which means we cant walk too far but short strolls here and there are fine. We like eating local food wherever we go in the world. We dont dress in Levis unfortunately ! I am assuming crop trousers and casual top (woman) will be OK, and hubby in casual trousers and shirt. I have heard not to dress up in designer, no problem there then. Any help gratefully received. Thanks in advance. Jane

UT, WY, SD....10 days

Okay, I know some of you are going to think I am crazy, but my husband and I are planning a trip. We want to visit Utah (Zion, Arches, Bryce Canyon, etc.), Wyoming (Yellowstone and Teton), and South Dakota (Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse). We are flying from VA to either UT or SD. We will drive from one to the other two and then fly back home from where we finish. Is it crazy to try to do this in 10 days? We know that we may miss some things, but is it enough to see the major sights?
