Is the Herder House listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites the same thing as the Kirms-Krackow-Haus? Anybody know? And is the Old High School they mention different from the Civil School? I'm confused.
The Kirms-Krackow-Haus is a reminder of how people lived during the days of Goethe. Goethe was guest in the house, as was Herder. The house also accomodates the Herder Museum (if I'm not mistaken) which could be the reason for the confusion, but the Herderhaus is located at Herderplatz (or a little north, next to Herdergarten) as opposed to Kirms-Krackow-Haus which can be found at 10, Jakobstrasse.
There's an "Altes Gymnasium" which would best be translated into "Old Highschool". Not sure what you mean by "Civil School".
check www.weimar.de. Site is available in English and provides all information on Weimar you have been looking for.
Have a nice day.
Best wishes from Berlin,
