You can find snacks in like crisps, chocolate bars and sweets yoghurts etc etc in stores like 7/11 or similar store in Vientienne and Luang Prabang. And in service stations on the way to those places by coach! further out you may struggle!

Also forgot to say, when in Vientienne you have Jomas or Jonas (one of those names) Bakery, which sell freshly made danish pasteries and other cakes, coffees, juice etc etc!

Also if your heading to Luang Prabang and are looking for western food, head to utopia,Just ask a driver,if there not sure then just say the bowling alley, its the one and only of it's kind in Laos, they all know where it is.Utopia is a bar thats lively at night, but quite enough for the children in the day time and they sell western foods like burger and fries at a resonable price.I've been there many times, and it's the place i go when fed up with local food! Your children willl also enjoy it as the bar is littered from original shrapnell,so it's a bit of history for the children as well!

Hope this helps
