Hello, we are planning a trip to UAE and neighbouring countries (along the coast) these days. I am wondering if there are currently any mosquitos to expect e.g. in the evening when sitting outside and if yes, what kind of protection is recommended - anything special?
Hi! I'm a UAE resident and we're planning a road trip to Wadi Madha from Dubai. Wanted to know what documents we will need to carry with us. Is it mandatory to carry our passports or will our Emirates ID be enough. Also any particular documents we need for our car which is Dubai registered?
I am planning to visit Saudi Arabia on Umrah Visa by road on my own vehicle along with my family. However I have been told my Al Madani Travels and Al Quds Travels the official Saudi Embassy appointees for Consultancy services that by road travel has been stopped and number to people who had tried to visit KSA by road on their own private vehicles have been turned away from Ghweifaat / Batha border. Is it true?
Has anyone recently visited KSA by road on their own vehicle from UAE. Whats the status of by road travel on one's won vehicle.
I'm a high school senior who is interested in moving to the UAE for college and work. I'm an American whose lived most of her life in Saudi Arabia. But I moved back to the states for my last year of high school. I'd really like to study in the UAE and I've applied to some colleges out there. How do I go about getting a job there if I'm under the university's sponsorship? I read about the temporary work permit. It lasts for 6 months. So after 6 months I can't work or can I renew it? Also what kind of jobs can I expect to get if I'm only a high school degree holder?
Is it safe to travel to Dubai? Are there any warnings about Terrorism?

A 24hr transit without visa (i dont know if he'd be allowed out of the airport without visa ) or a 96hour transit visa? And do we apply through emirates website or visa on arrival?

Hi, we are staying in both cities and have booked hotels with Travel Republic online only to find they dont know what extra charges we will be abliged to pay. We know in Dubai you now have to pay a bedroom tax of AED15-20 per night. Is ther any other city taxes due? We have also been warned some hotels also dress up random services charges or fees as local taxes. Can anyone help with this? Thanks in advance.

I am an Indian and I am in a short visit in UAE on tourist visa for 40 days. My entry date is 4th June'14 and I plan to leave on 8th July'14. Unfortunately I lost my eVisa copy which is stamped with my entry date and another stamp. I have a copy of the same. And there is a date stamp in my passport as well.
Will I face any difficulty to leave the counrty? Should I present that original copy on my exit?
Thanks in advance.
Hi I wonder if theres anyone can give good advice on these subjects.
I will be visiting UAE end of March to mid April. I will be staying in Ras al Khaimah, Sharjah and Adu Dhabi, with brief stop in Dubai, on way home to UK.
I did have some carpets from Baghdad, - wall and floor, the wall one was silky and depicted a scene. Can anyone tell me which is the best place to buy a carpet, as reasonable as possible. I would prefer one made in Turkey,Baghdad or Iraq if poss, but anywhere would do.
I believe that there are camel races in RAK and close to Al Ain, where is it best to see, and will they be on when i am in UAE. Is it fun?
thanks in Advance.
Will be visiting both Dubai and Abu Dhabi and would like to experience the desert safari. Was wondering whether to do a morning or evening safari (or both) and whether it makes more sense to do it in Dubai or Abu Dhabi. Any thoughts on the matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Hello, I've been doing a lot of research and just feel a little lost/overwhelmed in the planning department and was hoping for some help!
I will be staying in Abu Dhabi for a week plus two nights in Dubai. I've got the planning down for both of those cities, but would LOVE to see more outside of this area. From what I've seen Dibba/Musandam/khasab peak my interested. (Though a boat cruise with snorkeling not so much, I'd rather get out and hike a little.) I've read through a ton of different tour operator sights, but have no way to compare them and know which is best. So any suggestions here would be greatly appreciated!
Any other suggestions or areas of interest would be great too. I tend to like the less commercialized/touristy, off the beaten path, cultural rich 'adventures'
Note: We are traveling in a group of four women, and I don't know how comfortable I feel about driving ourselves!
We want to travel overland from the Netherlands to South Africa and intend to travel through the U.A.E. I have read that you need a local driver's license (an international driver's license is not suffiecient). How does that work when you appear at the border in your own car?
We recently travelled from Thailand to Dubai by Emirates Airline. We were travelling business class due to a medical condition (broken leg) arranged through Europassist.
At Dubai there were no wheelchair as arranged and my wife had to disembark on crutches. She lost her balance and fell in the kitchen area of the airplane, breaking 3 ribs and sustaining a fracture in a neck vertebrae.
There was no further medical assistance available and the hotel we were booked in by Emirates had no wheelchair facilities.
It has been 3 months since the incident has been reported and Emirates have since not responded to our complains.
Can anybody tell me who to contact to get this matter resolved?

I can report back that Joint visa did not work on Omani land border via Dubai.
My family members went to Omani land border via Dubai showed the Joint visa) Immigration officials stated that this visa is not valid. When ringing the Omani consulate in Dubai to reconfirm - i was informed by consular officials’ that Joint Visa is valid.
How come the Omani immigration stated visa not valid? When the Omani consulate in Dubai stated it’s valid?
Even when I personal travelled to Dubai) my Dubai visa was valid for 10 days I was informed the joint visa with Dubai is not valid) I was 1 day late) When I showed Immigration officials that stated you visa should be valid for 21 days I had pay 200 AED = £34.50 British pounds.
What advice can members give me) on what course of action I should take?
Look forward to hear from you all.
