Uluru National Park (Ayers Rock)

Ayers Rock Visit

We have 2 full days in Yuluru and am a bit confused about tours which seem very expensive. We want to see sunrise and sunset and spend the rest of the time exploring the park, taking in a few short walks. Is there a frequent bus service to and from the park and once inside the park how do you get around to the various sites? On the second day we will go to Kings Canyon and will book a coach trip for this as we are not keen to drive ourselves. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

By all means take the coach to kings canyon, but I recommend you rent a car to do Uluru and Kata Tjuta (olgas) so you are on your own schedule. I suggest you go to Uluru at sunset, then come back the next morning for sunrise, then do your looking around in the cooler early hours, then visit the visitors centre as it gets warmer - to avoid the heat. You can then go to Kata Tjuta the first day before Uluru sunset or the second day after the visitors centre.
