Should I change money before I fly to Thailand? Or would I get a better rate on arrival at airport in Thailand?
Change your money in Thailand...you'll get a better rate. Change enough for your transport at the airport once you arrive in Thailand. The best rate is in the city.
Thank U mim95. So, not at the airport. And, at which places would be the best places? I am travelling to Chiang Mai.
Just change a little at the airport, then change at the exchange booths you will find in Bangkok or Chiang Mai. Most are operated by the banks and the rates are very similar.
If you had looked through this forum a little bit you will come across helpful information including changing money. Below post was just last week.
Yes, change your euros in Thailand for a better exchange rate. Change enough at the airport to see you through your first day of purchases and other spending then go looking for a better rate if you want to. But unless you change a lot at once the increase may not make a huge difference.
You will have to change something at the airport so you can pay for taxi or other transportation anyway. In Thailand you pay for "things and services" with their currency.
Very easy to change money in Thailand. Bank currency exchanges and a few private money changers available in popular parts of the city that tourists visit or stay at. The exchange rates are not fixed and can move up or down a little. Look at the chart below and then maybe 5-10 hours later and note any change. Changes are not drastic.
Take the time to read some of the posts on this forum for other useful information. Need a quickie answer even a Google search sometimes can be helpful.
Happy New Year.
There are plenty of Money changers in BKK and they have different rates sometimes.......I don't know where you stay in BKK, but in Khao san road almost every 500meters there are exchange booth..............Do not change on the bank you get lower rates with euros
