Thx in advance.
Hello
How much should I tip a driver just for a transfer from Kilimanjaro airport to a hotel in Arusha, for about 1 hour drive? The transfer should be afternoon and he will be not my driver later on safaris. I have paid $50 for this airport transfer to a local travel agency.

Hello,
I am travelling from Kenya to Tanzania .
I have USA passport. I was wondering if I can get tourist visa upon arrival on boarder in Tanzania?
Has anyone with USA passport experienced Tanzania visa upon arrival?
Appreciate any advice

Hello all. Me and my wife would like to make a trip to Tanzania and of course we would like to see some wildlife. I saw the prices of some safari's and I was totally shocked. All we want is a 3 - 5 day safari. We don't mind to spend the night in simple tents. Who can tell us some reliable and save agents? We travel at the end of August and the beginning of September.

We are definitely going to Ngorongoro Crater in early August, my question is whether it is also worth adding Lake Manyara (I have read very mixed reviews) andTarangire.
We do like seeing different birds but not the type to sit for hours in hides.
We will also be going to a Masai Mara, Amboseli, Tsavo East and Tsavo West.
If we add in Lake Manyara and Tarangire we would have to cut down 2 days each in Tsavo parks to 1 day each. Would this be OK?
We are planning a safari to Tanzania in the Fall of 2017. We are looking to do a 10-12 day safari that will cover the migration, Tnagrire, Ngorongoro, the crater, Olduvai and more. We are looking for suggestions on "Bonded", reputable safari operators that people have used. The level of our safari will be in the mid to luxury range. Please no tour operator responses. Thank you in advance.
I,m going to Tanzania next mounth and I looking for scenic flights in tanzania, it doesn,t matter where.
Anyone knows which companies provide that kind of services?
hey everybody,
In October 2015 we're planning to visit Tanzania. Some practical questions / doubts / do's / dont's:
- accommodation in the NPs. You recommend staying either in or right outside the park?
- transportation throughout the country?
- walking / climbing the Kilimanjaro?
Looking forward hearing from you, thanks!
Hi experts...
We're planning a trip to Tanzania next year for 9 days. I have status on United Airlines, so my preference is to fly UAL or a Star Alliance partner. We live in Chicago, and my thought was that we could fly from here to somewhere in Europe, then from wherever that is to Tanzania (probably Dar Es Salaam).
Trouble is, from looking at the United web site and trying to get an itinerary, it looks like way more flights than I want to take. I'd be OK with flying from ORD to NWR, LGA, HOU, IAD, etc., and then leaving the US from one of those airports. But all the trips UAL seems to offer take us through Manchester, or London, or Zurich...then to Turkey, or Ethiopia, or Egypt - then to Dar Es Salaam. I haven't yet called United directly, but is anyone aware of direct flights from, say, London, Paris, Zurich, Frankfurt, Munich, etc., to Dar Es Salaam on United or a United partner? Thanks.
What are recommended vaccinations for for a Serengeti safar?
Hiya,
My wife and I are thinking of doing our first Safari 8 Full days, and have been contemplating how to plan it out.
I'm really debating between South Africa and Tanzania, SA seems straight forward, fly into J'berg rent a 4 x 4 go to Kruger etc...
But my heart tells me to do Tanzania, if I manage to sell it to my other half....some questions
1. Can one self drive in Tanzania? and hire experienced guides
2. What’s the best entry point to Tanzania from the UK, Dar Es Salaam (DAR) seems to be cheaper however seems like one has to fly to get to Serangeti, however its closer to Zanzibar.
3. I see lots of recommendations for Safari companies from the previous posts is that a standard? Is this the way to go on Safari i.e. is self drive not an option
4. The FCO says everyone needs a visa to Tanzania, also says you can get it at entry at the airport?
5. Is Easter a good time to visit Tanzania? (End March/Start of April)
Thanks

Hi, we are four people going for 10 days private safari to four big parks in Tanzania. Does anyone know how high are the wages of the safari guides? How much should we pay to our guide for 10 days? He is self-employed.
We're looking into a trip to Tanzania and Zanzibar next year. Plan would be to visit serengeti, Ngorongoro crater, Manyara, Tarangire the last 2 weeks of May and then 1st week of June off to Zanzibar. I know this is the end of wet season so I'm trying to assess what this means in practice. Does it rain all day?
Hi everyone. How long would it take to cross with a private car? Any tips? thanks. Phil
What kind of vaccination do i need for Tanzania / Sansibar. Thanks, Michael
Hi , TA members
I think this is right field to bring this case , and if not i apologize for this . My friend in Arusha he is a Tour Operator , he had served 2 tourists from Ireland by joining them in sharing safari for 4 days . Before the service they were agreed each other between him and these 2 Irish guys should pay a deposit of $ 645 to secure the booking as usually every agency does . So they paid that deposit by transfer it into his account in Tanzania . On 03rd Oct they came and started a safari as it was agreed , and by 06th Oct the finished their safari trip and they kept excellent comments to him .
But the real case is , on 10th Oct one of them went to her bank and claim to her bank to bring back that payment which was paid as deposit to her account and cancel that money transfer , so her bank which is '' Allies Irish Bank '' took back that money from my friend account , so my questions are :-
1) What action or steps do you advise to my friend should take to bring back his money into his account from these inconvenient guys ?.
2) Is it possible for him to get his money back ?.
3) What should he does to secure something like this never happen again ?.
Sorry for long story , but in reality i need an help to help him . Thanks for take your time and contribute on my thread . Your advice will be much appreciated .

Hello!
I'm a single, female traveler, and I'm going to be heading to Tanzania in December. I'll be in Uganda for the month of November volunteering, then looking to end the adventure with a Serengeti safari in Tanzania before returning to Canada.
Couple things I'm looking for:
Low budget and reliable
Flight advice from Entebbe to Kilimanjaro International (via Nairobi)
Any things I MUST see?
Anyone wanna tag along?
Thanks in advance for any input!

We had our sights set on climbing Mt Kilimanjaro however due to the fact that my boys are 11, 11 & 13 we have decided it is too difficult and not safe. We are considering doing a partial climb, 4 days, 3 nights. We are keen to experience the trek, the scenery and view up close the mountain.
Has anybody done anything similar? Can anyone recommend a route to follow.
Any advice is welcome.
We are looking to use Borderless Tours and Safaris for a 10 day Safari in Tanzania. Can anybody recommend using them?
Hi I am trying to choose between 2 safari holidays. One with Africa Travel Resource using MKSC guides and one with Safariandbeach using Masaii Wanderings guides. Can anyone comment on whether they have used them or heard any good or bad reviews
Hello everyone!
I am planning on traveling through Tanzania in early June, specifically on a safari trip and to Zanzibar. I will be coming from Uganda. If anybody is planning a trip around the same time, maybe we can travel together. Any advice/tips/information on which company to go with for the safari, or not go to with a company, and where to stay in Zanzibar, and any other information would be much appreciated!
I will be traveling alone. I am a student, so money is a big factor when deciding places to stay and activities to participate in, though safety comes first. I have traveled extensively but this will be my first trip to Tanzania and Africa in general (though i will have been to Uganda by then).
Thanks in advance!
