Le Truck does not pick you up at the port in Papeete but it is only a very short walk to the bus stops. The stops are at various locations in the city centre, depending on the destination you want to go to.

Best you go to the visitor centre which is right by the port and tell them where you want to go to, and they will tell you to which stop you have to go.

Please note that Le Truck service is very patchy on weekends.

In Moorea there is nothing like a bus service at the pier where you are dropped off by tender boat. The cruise ships do not arrive at Cook's Bay where the ferries from Papeete arrive. You are more or less in the middle of nowhere.

The best thing you can do is rent a car and make the booking well ahead of your arrival. The cars will be ready right at the pier and you can start immediately. There are also cars available for people who have not booked but it takes a while until everything gets sorted out.

Moorea is too large and hilly to circle by bicycle in the time you have unless you are Lance Armstrong ;-)

Le Truck in Bora Bora does not take you around the island. It picks up passengers who arrive by boat from the airport and takes them to their hotels, everything has to be booked. Forget about public transport on Bora Bora.
