Note. Here we have planned Flight Jorney from Mumbai to Kolkata and Guwahati to Mumbai. However it will be over our budget. So we will cancel one flight jorney and will go by train.

I have following querries:
1. How should we plan here? I think this may be little Hectic. As we have not planned for rest days
2. If we cancel Guwahati How can we those extra days ?
3. Which is preferable Darjiling or Kalimpong?
4. PLease let me know any sacred places as I am very much interested in visiting old Temples.

Thanks in Advance

It looks pretty reasonable. I think Darjeeling is more flexible than Kalimpong. See this article I did on the subject:

Darjeeling is a hill station with some amazing views of the himalayan range, I would definitely recommend the same over Kalimpong. However you cite your interest in old temples, Kalimpong sure has Buddhist monastries, would that interest you more than the flower valleys of Darjeeling?
Darjeeling itself has some monastries and temples-Dhirdham temple is modelled on the lines of the famous Pashupatinath temple of Kathmandu and was built in 1939. It is a minute's walk from the Darjeeling Railway Station,2 monastries I remember are Ghoom & Dali, these along with the Tiger Hill and adjoining lake make Darjeeling a great place to visit!
W.r.t your itinerary it does look hectic and IMO you should drop the North east parts as they are not really tourist friendly/safe. Sudden strikes and curfews will topple all your travel/stay plans, so do avoid the same. Spend an extra day in Darjeeling and another in Gangtok or you could add Varanasi to your plans. From Darjeeling Varanasi is a night's journey away, and it is the quintessential place to visit if you want to see temples.
Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot both of you. As this plan was bit hectic I changed my plan. Now I skipped North-East Part totally. Now the plan is:

20/05/09 Mumbai to Kolkata by flight
20/05/09 Kolkata to NJP by train in night
21/05/09 NJP to Gangtok
22/05/09 gangtok (trip to tsomogo lake)and nathula pass
23/05/09 gangtok - lachen
24/05/09 lachen - gurudongmar - lachung excursion
25/05/09 lachung - zeropoint - lachung - gangtok
26/05/09 gangtok to pelling
27/05/09 pelling
28/05/09 Pelling to NJP
30/05/09 NJP to Kolkata
01/06/09 Kolkata to Mumbai

Is this plan ok ? We will visit darjeeling while comming back from Gangtok.
