Hotel/Motel/Room - around Genoa (Princes Hwy)

I am looking for some not expensive hotel/motel/room around Genoa just to sleep over night. Same day I will have quite long drive from Phillip Island, so I would prefer to make reservation in advance to prevent problems of searching place for sleeping in the evening.

So do you know any hotel/motel/room around Genoa for 2 people that I can book simple over internet? Thanks.

Hi ya - I didn't even know there was a Genoa in Australia but there is. It is about 120 k from Orbost.

VT has the location but there is a glitch do I couldn't see locations in and around so I found an outside site.

smh.com.au/news/Victoria/Gen...

here is the link - one motel and one caravan park

Just to let you know caravan parks often have cabins or caravans to rent - which can be a good and quite cheap option.
Also many pubs in small towns have accomodation - which varies in quality.
If you are stuck for accomodation - it can happen - and there is a pub - go there and ask. They will know everything available almost for sure.

Genoa must be a really small and rather backward place. Neither the motel nor the caravan park give you the option of booking by internet.
It is only 60 k from Eden - which is much bigger - maybe you can find a place there that you can book on the internet.

Or you could ring and book when you land in Australia.

and i am sorry to bombard you with replies - but when we drive around australia (unless it is during the school holidays and we want to stop at a really popular place) - we just drive until we want to stop driving and then pick a motel. They are never more than about80 - and there are signs everywhere letting you know where they are - and if they happen to be full - they direct you somewhere else usually.
We have never been stuck without accomodation - but it can happen of course.

Thank u very much for answers.

When we drove in usa we did just like u said: stop when we decide to and choose some motel near road. This will be my first time to visit Australia so I dont know if there is also a lot of motels near roads. But it looks there is similar as you said so that's good.

Not far from Genoa is Mallacoota, off the highway and lots of accomodation there. On the way to Mallacoota is Gypsy Point which is a small settlement and has a great pub. Here's a link for Mallacoota which also includes accom for Gypsy Point - http://www.visitmallacoota.com.au/

I've been through Genoa. From memory there was one shop (closed at the time) and some public toilets (likewise, closed).
Believe me, if you are driving too fast you will miss it completely - it's a very small place and nothing much to recommend it. I doubt that there is much accommodation. If you are heading east on the Princes Highway, I'd suggest you go an extra 60 km and stop at Eden - just over the border in NSW. It's a beautiful seaside fishing town, right on the water and a popular holiday destination so there are lots of accommodation options (try wotif.com)

Thank u very much for advices. I was looking only on google maps and there looks Genoa not so small so I thought to stop there. In this case I will probably go further to Eden or some other place around.
