Last year my wife and I had a wonderful trip to Greece. One small disappointment was that we could not find a restaurant serving Greek grilled (not fried) chicken.
We finally found one in Sparta. We stumbled on it returning from a search for a restaurant which turned out to be a vacant lot. A friend will be in Sparta with little free time, and would like to know where it is. We don't know. Unfortunately, we do not have a good map of Sparta, and Google is not useful.
Some clues. I believe we were on Odos Ton (labeled confusingly on one Internet map as Tripoleos), which starts at the junction of Thermopylon and Palaeolgou and runs north-east. The small restaurant was on the north side, very plain, with all the ambience of a McDonald’s. But it did have good grilled chicken. On the other hand, my wife remembers the street as being smaller, so possibly on a side street close to Ton. Also, we have a receipt which may be from that restaurant, and it may list the address as Parnassus 32. We don't know Greek, so this could be wrong (I tried to insert the name in Greek here, but it displays as numbers). Anyway, my limited map doesn't show a "Parnassus".
Not a lot to go on, I know. But perhaps someone reading this is either from Sparta or has a good map and can make sense of this. Please?
