Getting Married in April '08 - Need some advice!!!

I am getting married in April 2008 and need some advice on lodging and a location for the wedding.

First of all, we went on our first trip to Tahoe in December 2006. We stayed at the Embassy Suites. It was a nice hotel, but for our wedding we want to stay somewhere different - like maybe a romantic cabin or resort-type place. Can anyone recommend a place to stay? Also, which is better, North Tahoe or South Tahoe? We stayed in South Tahoe for our trip and didn't venture to the northside - although I hear North Tahoe is trendier/more expensive.

We want an outside wedding, lake-front along the beach, but very informal. I want to wear a nice dress but probably will be barefoot! My fiance is very much on the informal side, he will probably not wear a tux. We will only have the ceremony in Tahoe with close family members - the actual reception will be here at home in Dallas when we get back.

I read somewhere of a company that offers carriage rides to/from the ceremony location. Would anyone recommend this? I thought it sounded like a nice romantic touch. Also we want to do a couples spa while we are there. Can anyone recommend a nice spa?

Sorry for all the questions, but I want my wedding to be perfect!

Thanks in advance for the replies!

I cant answer your question about a romantic cabin setting, but I can tell you that the North Shore is less of a neon tourist attraction. It is a bit quieter, in my humble opinion a bit more scenic, but more of simple day-to-day town living. The southshore is built up with the casinos, clubs and neon lights.

The north shore is a bit more expensive, but not that much. Reasons are because the north shore does not get the perks of bulk tourists and business that the south shore does. Not that it tips the scales on prices, but general goods coming by truck have easier access to SLT because of HW50. Cargo coming to the north shore have smaller and more difficult roads to come over.
