Train from Rome to Brescia or Verona?

Hi everyone
We will be staying in Sirmione for 4 nights in October and plan on taking the train from Rome to Brescia or Verona and then have a transfer from there to the hotel. What would be the other options to reach Sirmione? Thanks in advance

The closest station is Desenzano midway between Brescia and Verona and main trains stops there. Then the schedule of buses to Sirmione may be found here:

There are two stations on the lake, one at Desenzano del Garda and one at Peschiera del Garda with Sirmione being almost equal distance from both. Coming from Verona you can either take the train to Peschiera del Garda then the bus to Sirmione, or you can take the bus directly to Sirmione. Coming from Brescia you can take the train to Desenzano then the bus to Sirmione, or the bus directly to Sirmione.

Its always worth checking with your hotel in Sirmione as they may be able to offer transfers either from one of the train stations.
