Could any kind person tell me if there is a bus from Sintra to Praia das Macas and if so what is the number. Many thanks.
It's the 441 operated by Scotturb.
The current timetable is here
note that this one starts from the transport interchange at the Portela de Sintra station which is about half a mile outside the town centre. Coming from Lisbon it's the stop before Sintra.
You might like to know that the old trams are running again this summer all the way from Sintra to Praia das Macas on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and this starts from nearer the middle of town and the Sintra Station.
Trams run about once an hour starting at 0920 in July and August, 1015 June and September last ones back 1900 July and August, 1800 June and September.
Many thanks Cubsur. Brilliant response!
This bus suggested by Cubsur has to be the same bus which one can readily take a few meters slightly just outside the Lisboa-Sintra-Lisboa train station.
Praia das Macas is my favorite beach around the Sintra coast.
The bus from Sintra passes thru Praia das Macas and ends up at the tiny village perced atop the rock, Azenhas do Mar, which you ought not missed while there. And the medieval looking wine-producing village of Colares is also highly worth a stop.
