Suggestions welcomed and needed please for trip to Singapore. Is Johor & Macau worth visiting - also the arab markets. Hotel suggestions much appreciated. Many thanks
I am planning trip with my family to singapore. I have already gone through website, which clearly states that I need to apply through approved travel agent.
My question is why they are asking me to handover my original passport. They have to apply online and I will be getting e-visa.
Please do let me know if any traveller from india obtained visa for singapore and malaysia.
If things are smoother from thailand then I may plan to include thailand too.
I live in town which has 2 travel agent but none of them are listed on singapore embassy webite.
thank you in advance
Hello, what is the best way to get from Changi to the Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal just outside the airport?
I just want to know is it possible to go out from changi airport if i have 16hours transit? Transit in terminal 1 with jetstar. Thankyou!
Hello may i know what is the fastest routes i should take if i wanna go to gardens by the bay from changi airport? It tooks how many hours? Thankyou!
Reaching Singapore on 6th Sep afternoon. Should reach hotel by 3-4pm. Return Flight on 11 Sep late night around 10pm. So I pretty much have 5 full days at my expense.
I am keen on splitting them 3 for Sentosa (and all activities that are possible to cover in that duration) and 2 days for the remaining city. Does it sound good? Can someone suggest me a detailed plan.
For your reference I have 1900 SGD at my expense (minus the flights, hotel and visa charges that have already been booked and paid)
Awaiting for a mind blasting plan from my fellow VT comrades :D
PS: I am travelling with my wife
I will be having a transit of almost 7 hrs(1100-1900hrs) on a Saturday at T5. Any recommendations on where I can go if I intend to do some sight seeing?
Also, I'm changing plane, but same airline. Would I need to collect my lugguage and later check in again?
Appreciate your advice.
will the upcoming epl season be showing in bars in singapore
It is many years since i have spent time in Singapore, usually passing through very quickly,. At the end of July we will be arriving at 4.50 pm and departing at 2.20 am, 9 hrs later. I figure this will give us from 6.30 pm to 11.30 pm to explore a little and enjoy a meal. Considering nearby stations that serve the airport, the attractions to see in the evening would it be better to spend our time wandering around Little India or Chinatown. We are not interested in modern buildings but prefer to see older parts of the city. Which area would you recommend and why?
I am considering one of two self guided walks. Any comments?
Thanks fellow VTers
Can any body tell me what is the entry price of Adult Sentosa?
I am planning to visit Singapore during the first week of August this year for my holidays.
I have been to Singapore around 4-5 years back, & would really appreciate if I could get any must-visit places which are not very known and conman.
Also, if there is any island in and around Singapore that' is worth a visit (except Sentosa of course)?
I'm looking for an island that has water sport activities operating.
Would love any advise or suggestions.
So finally i have (after a lot of research/valuable inputs/reading other threads and posts etc) i have drawn up this itinerary which will also help others who read this.
What i need to know is :-
-If the time spent is correct at each area/attraction
-If anything is missed out
-if anything has to be removed from the plan/Change
not interested to do any of the nature/history apart from the Zoo etc- so avoided lot of areas too.
Now to come to itinerary. We are traveling on June 3rd and leaving on june 11th. that is 9 days full.
We are a couple for 9 days. (2 couples are joining for first 3 days hence the tight and busy 1st 3 days schedule)
We are staying at my Cousins place at Clarkquay.
we land at 8:15am - we plan to settle down have a quick nap
lunch at 12pm.
Post lunch head to SEA aquarium - 3 hours.(Maritime / typhoon theater)
Head back to VIVO city and then to raffles. walk down to merlion/fullerton hotel/raffles landing site) see the sound and light show of MBS(WONDERFUL) from Merlion.
Walk towards Clarkquay/Boatquay and settle at one of the places for dinner.
Universal studio - at 9ish ( 6 hours )
Chinatown - 5ish(early dinner) ( 2-3 hours)
Head back home for a quick nap and head to MBS casino or a club)
Orchard/Dhoby Ghaut - 11pm
Head back home at about 5pm. friends will be departing Singapore so will help them check out.
rest at home since we will be tired from the 1st 3 days.
Half day walk towards esplanade/float @ marina bay / makan sutra / F1 area/Flyer
other half of the day - ????
Little India - 11pm- mustafa/tekka/buffalo street etc - 3 hours
Kampong glam area - 3pm - arab street/Haji lane/ bussorah, surrounding areas - 4 hours
head back home
Zoo - full day
IKEA- 3 hours - wife is interior designer so a must visit place
Holland village for lunch & shop - 2 hours
other half day - ????
Jurong bird park - 6 hours
Head back home
We have a flight at 10:00PM so will head out by 6pm. - may be keep this day spare to do things which we might have missed out on earlier/hang around with cousin etc..
Things we want to do but feel we might pass it this time :-
Underwater world - doing SEA aquarium so its an alternate
Night safari - might be a different experience but doing Zoo during the day
River safari - haven't got too many good reviews on this
Ducktour/Singapore River cruise - doing lot of things on foot so this could be a alternate
Gardens by the bay - heard too many good review but unable to decide on this attraction
JOOCHIAT/KATONG district - ??? should this be done?
Please help on your valuable inputs.:) thanks in advance
Hey! Will be travelling with family in June to Singapore. I currently have two bookings and need help in finding out which is a better hotel - Hotel Boss & Orchard Grand Court. My budget is about 90-100 US$ per night - would like to be around Orchard or Quay. Please let me know your suggestions!! Thanks in advance!
We are arriving into Singapore at about 7pm so by the time we get thru customs and get to our Hotel in the City it will probably be about 9ish.
Are any of the food courts open for late night dining or what are some suggestions for a late ,cheap realistic Singaporean dinner.
Between work and two other trips I ignored my trip to Asia later this month and now I need some help so please take pity on me! :-)
We're arriving very late at night (actually early in the morning Tuesday) on a Monday and then will be taking a cruise through Malaysia. I imagine we will have a few hours on Tuesday and then most of a full day when we return on the following Saturday, flying home early Sunday morning. We are staying in Marina Bay the 1st night and at the Carlton City Hotel on the way back, both non cancellable so I can't move the hotels.
So what I need help with is:
1) transport, I assume taxis will be necessary because of the flight times on both sides of the trip, is there anything unusual about them?
2) are there ATMs at the airport, I assume I will need cash to get to the hotel.
3) what to do with my 1 1/2 days in Singapore? It looks like the current weather is extremely hot and humid with chances of showers
4) dress restrictions, ie no shorts? I'm seeing things saying that shorts are OK as long as you don't go into religious sites in them
5) getting from the hotel to the cruise port and back, is the public transport or do we need to take a taxi? We are trying to travel light, 1 small suitcase per person
Hopefully I'll have a little of time to do some research before I go but I'd appreciate any help!!!
