you have chose to be at the best airport to do wonderful things while you wait for check in of your next flight.
There are free city tours, cinema, gardens, internet, shops, restaurants and cafes.. even more...
Check with airport concierge when you arrive for the list of things to do..
In case you want to sleep.. there are free sleeperettes and blankets in the sleeping areas.. just ask at the airport.

Since your arriving at the airport so late, stay at the airport hotel within the airport. Do not pick up your checked bags, do not go through customs and immigration, go to one of the hotels within the three terminals. The alternative is to book your original hotel for the night that you arrive, and then go to your hotel straight from the airport. The other alternative is to stay up all night and that is no way to start a holiday.

I would book the hotel with the 3pm arrival for the previous night too.
Staying awake for 14 hours to save a bit of money is pure torture if you ask me.

1 am---take a nap at the airport, not much to do at that time of night. Take an early train into Chinatown or Little India and explore on foot, or if you are too tired take the free Singapore tour from the airport. We also have a 10 hr stopover and will take the free tour, or walk around a little while

Endorse what previous VT,ers have said, book an extra night for the night you arrive. You could let the Hotel know what time you expect to get there.

There are times when economising just doesn,t make sense and to undertake an international flight, stay up all night and the next day as well could ruin your stay.
