Tips for First-Time Traveler to Singapore

Hi! I intend to spend my birthday weekend in Singapore this June (3rd week)2016 for 2 nights Saturday and Sunday in a hostel in Bugis (I will be back to my home country on a Monday morning). It would be my first time to visit this country. I would welcome any tips on how to maximize fully my Saturday and Sunday. 1. Regarding transferring from one spot to the other, which is better: getting Singapore EZ card or take the hop on hop off bus? 2. Which tourist spots to visit for 2 days (aside from Universal Studios & Animal Zoos)? Do I need to book online in advance so I can save some bucks? 3. For the food, I will definitely try the hawker stalls. Are there any restos or maybe a nice special dining place to celebrate my birthday around Bugis St (like a birthday place for tourists haha) ? 4. Is it easy to maneuver in Singapore? Can I still locate the tourist spots without using online maps? (I dont think I will have mobile internet connection when I get there)

Thanks in advance for your suggestion.

Hi Meca
1. It's better if you buy a tourist card, valid for 3days at Changi MRT, that could be refundeble
2. Explore Sentosa Island by Cable Car, Mono Rail, Bus n Tram for free, visit Madam Tussand Museum, Garden by the Bay, Singapore Flyer, Explore Singapore River (MBS, Merlion, Esplanade, Helix Bridge, Clarke Quay, Boat Quay, ect), Fort Canning, Henderson Bridge, Shopping at China Town, Mustofa Center, Bugis, ect
It's better booking online tickets
3. You could celebrate your b'day at Clarke or Boat Quay
4. Information in Singapore is superb......... :) (y)

Enjoy your Singapore short visit, Meca
