Organized excursions

Do I need to pre-book organized excursions or is there a hop on hop off bus. Thinking about visiting March 2017 Any suggestions as to best hotel location much appreciated. Want to see all the major tourist sites - not interested in theme parks and anything with cable cars

There is a hop on/off bus which my husband and I used years ago and found it to be very good. Found this link for you

This is the link to my Singapore page where I have written about what I saw and did, may give you some ideas of what you wish to do

You don't need to book organised excursions. We took a couple that came with our stopover package, but after that we just used the MRT system to get around - it's very easy.

The two tours I did were:

You do not have to prebook attractions. You can buy tickets at the gates. Though some tickets you can get lower price if you buy online such as the zoo.. For hotels City Hall area would be considered the most central. Many attractions will be walking distance like the civic and colonial district, marina bay area, Singapore River, etc.. but Singapore being compact most hotels whichever location would be fine as many places are reachable via MRT.. and taxi fares here are quite affordable...

If you are engaged in travel organization in Singapore alone, the most convenient opportunity to look around in a strange city - sightseeing bus tour of Singapore under the program City Sightseeing Singapore. In a comfortable double-decker bus with an open top and air conditioning at the bottom, you will have time to explore virtually all of the major attractions in one day. And you can go to any place you like to come back on the next bus stop and continue the tour of the city. Buses run on a particular route with a 20 minutes interval (together with the ticket you will receive a route map with all the stops and bus schedules).
