I am going to travel to Singapore from India. I have never entered into airport. This is my first flight travel and also international. Please guide me on What are all procedure from entering into airport to leaving from the airport ?. I am going to stay there for about 10 months and tell about rules pertaining in carry limits for hair oil and shampoo. And finally what are all things I can carry in carry-on and baggage?. Thanks in advance.
Let's start with departure. Arrive at least 2 hours for departure at the airport.
Enter the airport and look for a display with the departure info and counter to check-in.
I assume you have to check in luggage; so you have to drop that at your the airline counter and also get a gate pass and a ticket there (you need to show your passport and Visa).
Go with your carry-on luggage (tagged at the airline counter) to passport control and security check.
You are not allowed to bring bottles of liquid. Very small amounts of liquid (cosmetics and alike) must be presented in a sealable plastic bag and be limited to 200 ml maximum.
Also sharp objects (scissors, files, etc) are not allowed.
Go to your gate (or do any tax free shopping first if there is time left) and be there at least 30 minutes before departure. There can be an extra security check at the gate. You have to present your passport, ticket and gate pass. You keep your ticket and passport with you thereafter.
Enter the airplane. Ask staff to point you to your seat. There are row numbers and seat Letters. When in doubt ask fellow passengers what your seat is (row number and seat letter are printed on your ticket).
Carry-on luggage must be placed in the overhead bin.
Have a seat, read the airplane info on the card in front of you.
Switch off your electronics (cell phone).
Buggle up and wait for the plane to leave.
Listen to the safety instructions by staff and enjoy your flight.
Chewing gum may help to adjust your ears to a different air pressure.
About hair oil and shampoo. I recommend to not bring any. It will weight much and you can bring other stuff you probably need much harder. Shampoo can be bought in Singapore.
Thanks. I hope this would help me a lot and not to feel like a lost person in airport.
