Singapore

drinking water while walking on streets

Is it ok to drink water or eat snacks while walking on streets or in a garden or while waiting for a bus? I know that is not allowed on the MRT premises.

Yes, you can drink and eat while walking on the street or in the garden, but litter is not allowed.

Eating n drinking is disallowed in public transport (mrt n buses) to minimise insects n roaches infestation.

It is imperative that you drink gallons of water in Singapore...so always carry some with you.
De-hydration can happen so easily because of humidity and heat, and is very dangerous

It's the littering that the goverment is worried with in Singapore but they will be totally fine with you having a snack in the streets as long as you don't litter.
I also see people sitting in the street drinking alcohol openly when i am in Singapore, which i am 5-6 times a year at the moment.

I have been to Singapore on 7 occasions and always drank water on the street, and an occasional nibble. So no problems with that, but you get fined for eating on public transport.

Hi there

You may drink and eat almost anywhere except on public transportation.

Singaporeans love to eat while walking so you will not be the odd one out.

Singapore isn't as strict as what the media portray it to be. So, relax and enjoy your trip!
