Sidi Bou Said

Place to stay?

It seems like most people visit sidi bou said for the day. Can anyone recommend a quant place to stay for the night? Thanks!

i read a post recommending Dar Said - its website looked beautiful and went to check out the prices - its in a nice spot and has been nicely recently renovated but its 245 dinar for a single and something in the 300 dinar mark for double. its probably the quaint you want but the price you will have to decide!

i was going to check out the recommended Hotel Sidi Bou said but had parked my car down south side of the centre and then had to walk a long way to get there so gave it a miss - the price in the lonely planet had been what i was prepared to pay but found that on approach most places had double from the lonely planet prices. there was a small hotel in one of the back streets just behind the sidi bou said main walking street but didnt check it out - it was 60 dinar for a double. i ended up staying at the hotel amilcar which was just below the incline to sidi bou said - a huge place, clean and right on the beach - and only 30 dinar a single in a double room with ensuite and breakfast.

Thanks! Sounds like there ARE places to stay in Sidi Bou Said, then. If you happened to write the address down for any of those places, let us know. But, I think we can figure it out. We also found a place online and in Rough Guide called hotel Bou Fares which isn't too expensive.. .
Thanks again.
