My fiancé and I are taking a road trip. San Antinio, Austin, Nashville, Memphis, and Savannah in early April. We are also bringing our bicycles. The bikes are just for joy riding in pretty places, not necessarily for transportation. Welcoming ideas on where to stay, interesting things to see and do. Also welcome the back door out of the ordinary as well as the usual tourist attractions. Not huge fans of museums all day.
Thank you very much! So excited!
It seems VT just allows you to pick one city at a time. So I apologize if some of you have seen this request. I appreciate those who have posted.
I would love to hear from more of you. Any ideas on things to do and see or places to stay in Savannah?
Also welcome good places to eat. Casual or otherwise.
my daughter has walking issues: Does the campus have lots of pathways and are the shops downtown wheelchair accessible. From above I can see the cobblestones are gonna give her issues already

I am staying in Savannah with my wife and my four year old for 5 days. My feeling is that the Savannah Historic District/Riverfront area is the best place to stay but that's based on nothing but a dumb guy's (that's me) gut. Can anyone offer any input?

We will be in Savannah for a couple of days early Christmas week, 2014. Are any some special not-to-be-missed Christmas highlights that we should leave time for?
We will be a first time visitors to Savannah, staying 2 nights. In reading reviews etc. it looks like you have to at least see the River walk but its mostly tourist traps. I'd like a brief summary of what to do in a day (the must sees) and advice on a good clean Hotel centrally located. Thank you!!
Hello! My fifteen-year-old son and I are driving to Charlotte from Fort Lauderdale next week and are planning to stop for the night in Savannah on the way. We should be arriving in Savannah between 4 and 5 p.m. and don't have a firm time to leave the next day. It's my first time in Savannah. Can anybody suggest any must-do's for us in the time we're there? We haven't booked a hotel yet, so we're open, but wherever we stay can't be super expensive, so I'm pretty sure the historic district is out. We both love to walk (although not so much in the sweltering heat and so, would rather get our walking in on the evening we get there) and love history, and we love eating, too. As a side note, I'm on a quest to run in all fifty states and plan to run while I'm there. Any suggestions as to where to do that? Again, that would probably be at night, too, in an effort to avoid heatstroke :)
where is the safest, inexpensive pet friendly place to stay in Savannah?
My family and I are stopping in Savannah on our way to NC and we want to make the most of our stay which will only be 2 nights. My first question is where should we stay? Historic district or riverfront. I don't want to spend to much I was looking at the Brice or the Hyatt Regency???? What do you think being an expert. We are also going to do the midnight ghost tour is it worth it... What is a must see when we are there.
Coming to Savannah for 3 days in June.
Big foodies here but are more into local places to sample good traditional Southern cooking.
Doesn't have to be anything fancy, in fact, we prefer it not to be.
Not touristy but rather somewhere the locals eat.
Hoping to hear from some people living in the area or who frequent the area often and are familiar with our requisites.
Thanking all in advance,
Homer (and Ed).
I am planning a trip to Savannah, GA with a business partner for May 18-23, 2014. We will be doing some writing and would like to avoid staying in a large hotel. We would like to find a place that had at least 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Are there any vacation rentals or Realtors for short term vacation rentals that you would recommend?

Hey fellow travelers!
My wife and I have been looking into staying in Savannah for a weekend getaway and have been keeping an eye out for great places to stay. We're really interested in the bed and breakfast inn idea. I've seen some good reviews for Presidents Quarters Inn, but wanted to find out more information. Their rooms look absolutely charming and I've heard that they believe in true Southern hospititality, but I've got a few questions.
1. Is the location ideal? What are some of the great hot spots nearby?
2. What seasons/times of year should we avoid? When is the best time to stay there?
and lastly 3. What's your favorite thing about the Presidents Quarters Inn? What makes it unique?

I am planning for this activity for next Tues. July 10th. Please contact me at my email: [email]
Hi I'm coming to Savannah in March for a month. Thinking about getting an apartment near Forsyth Park. Is this a good location? If not what is? Also what can I expect for weather. Coming from Martha's Vineyard. Thanks John
I will only have one full day in Savannah (a Sunday). What are the "must" attractions for me to see/do ? (please don't tell me about restaurants, though, because I am not at all a "food person").
Also, what sort of things could I do in the evening on a Sunday ?
Any advice for a couple looking for a relaxing, interesting long weekend? We're trying to plan something for the last weekend in September. We are interested in all things local and unique (no chains or gimicky things). Good food or tours are of interest. Also any particular areas we shouldn't miss? Thanks so much. (We're a mid-50s, extremely active couple.)
We are taking our daughter to tour SCAD this summer for a college visit. I was looking for information on a cheap but CLEAN hotel to stay at. Also some ideas on what to see while we are there. This is where she wants to attend college and we are from Ohio, so any information on Savannah would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
Which place, under150 dollars is really nice to stay, any tips, advice. I see Green Palm Inn for 159 plus taxes. Want to go in early May for 4 nights.
