Langkawi - Koh Lipe transport

I know that there's a speedboat going directly from Langkawi to Koh Lipe island; however, the price is very expensive (approx S$100 for a return ticket)...

alternatively, there's a ferry from Langkawi to Satun [original link] and price is much lower so if I get to Satun by this ferry, is there any transfer ferry or something like that that can take me from Satun pier to Koh Lipe? I think the distance is not far as Koh LIpe actually belongs to Satun province.

thanks in advance for your help!

oh and if I go to Koh Lipe end of Mar, do I need to book accommodation in advance or should I just walk in?

It will cost you alot more if you take the Ferry to Satun and then to Koh Lipe from Pakbara. The trip takes around four hours by ferry, / an hour and a half by speedboat.

Ko Lipe has no pier, so upon arrival you'll have to switch to a longtail boat. For 50 baht, the longtail boat will take you to any resort you'd like.

When returning from Ko Lipe, you can get ferry tickets from almost any guesthouse, or from the local tourist offices.

Ferry tickets cost 550B one way or, 1,000B return. Though you get a discounted ticket if you buy a return ticket, remember the ticket cannot be refunded nor used on another company's boat, so many choose to buy a one way ticket.

During the high season, ferry services run daily, with boats leaving Pakbara pier at 13:30. At peak season, the number of departures jumps to three times a day, with boats leaving at 10:30, 12:30, and 14:30. Boats return to Pakbara from Ko Lipe at 9:00, with additional departures at 10:00 and 14:00 during peak season.

Speedboats leave Pakbara daily at 11:30, cost 650B one way or 1,200B return. During peak season, an additional boat leaves at 13:30. Speedboats return from Ko Lipe at 9:30.

It will cost less and also take short time to reach Koh Lipe from Langkawi, the boat leaves Langkawi at 8:00 and arrives in Lipe at 09:30.
