Given that there are hundreds of vacation centres in North east Sardegna, can anybody recommend a place suitable for small kids (under 8) with pool and driving distance from some of the nice towns? All tips welcome (for September), in English or Italian GRAZIE
I am planning to take my wife and two boy, ages 2 and 6, to Alghero sometime around the last week of May. Will the weather and water be warm enough to make going to the beach a pleasant experience, or would I be better off waiting until September? We want to have a relaxed, low-stress, no schedule vacation, without having to deal with hordes of other tourists. My wife and I (pre-kids era!) traveled to the Greek Islands at the end of May, and it was perfect! Warm weather, deserted beaches, total peace and quiet. We are hoping for something similar. Also, any advice on places to stay near the beach on Sardegna? Thanks for any advice you can give.

Hi. I want to bring my young kids to Sardegna early summer. It is hard to know, from web info, where we should go. I am looking for: -NOT a tourist or busy area -on the beach -able to bike to a village/cafe/market -place where they will meet other children on the beach I would rather not get a car -- but do I need one? We will fly into Alghero. Does anybody know a good place to stay? Any ideas? THANK YOU.
In May, we'll spend some time for climbing at Cala Gonone. Does anyone know a nice place to stay - appartment or something like that? Thanks!!! Anke
Hi, Does anyone know if I can catch a ferry from anywhere in Sardinia to the Balearics (Menorca / Mallorca / Ibiza). I can't find anything. Cheers Craig
I have been planning my September trip to Sardinia and so far this is what I have: Fly into Alghero Spend night in Sassari Drive down to Oristano for one night and visit Tharros Drive up to Bosa Marina and stay for a few nights Drive up to Alghero and stay for a few nights. I have 9 days, am I doing enough? doing too much? missing something essential? In Alghero I plan to stay in Hotel San Francesco - does anyone have an accurate price for this for September? And are there any other hotel recommendations for the other places. And how much should I have to spend per day if I buy sandwiches for lunch and eat out at dinner? I am planning on £60 per day for two of us. Thanks for all your help on this! Emily
I am going to Alguero next month and I have 5 days to visit the island. I would like to know if there is good public transportation to get the best places to visit. If anybody has more information or perhaps some web page about it, please tell me. Ah! and other curiosity: Is it true some people there speak catalan already? Thanks! jordi barcelona, catalonia
I am flying to Alghero in September and had originally planned to drive around the island and visit Cagliari. However due to time constraints (1 week) I realise this is not possible and I was wondering if you could tell me if Alghero holds enough to keep me entertained for a week on its own. Does it have good beaches as well as culture? Any cheap hotel tips? I was also thinking of going down to Bosa - any opinions on this?
I've been looking for information on the net on Sinnai for days!( Thank God I have found you!) However, everything is in Italian and the translated pages are not much help. Do you know of a good webpage or, even better, have some advice on what to see, where to eat (nothing fancy pls). I'll be there at the end of December 2003 and welcome any advice you may want to post! Thanks and Ciao!
Greetings all from a very hot England! We're off camping (in a tent) for a few weeks in the lovely Sardinia, and know the chilled out south of the island well. We wondered if anybody had any recommendations for things to explore in the central, western, eastern or northern part of the island? We travel lots and are up for exploring anything, so let us know about anything strange, beautiful or disturbing, or beaches, culturally interesting stuff, basically whatever you fell in love with in Sardinia. A friend recommended some caves in the central part of the island, has anyone visited these? Wishing happy travels to you all................
We are looking for a small villa near a beach and a small town in Sardinia. Anyone know of one or of a good website? Thanks in advance Stel

Hi all, I am planning a trip from Italy mainland (maybe Rome, maybe Naples) to Sardegna, by ferry. On the map, it looks something like 400km. Doesn't that translate to 8 hours on the boat? How long does it take, really? To all those of you who have been there, how did you get there?
What do you think that is it? Something to eat? A new Car tipe? Please let me know if most persons know what it is, take a little time to answere this question... Thank you!
