We just bought tickets for Sardegna next wednesday, we'll rent a car and drive around the island for more than a week. I haven't reserved any hotels yet, because I don't know for sure our intinerary.
I usually use booking com, is there good internet connection or should I start reserving from home?
Are you flying to Alghero or somwehere else?
We staying mostly in B&B's, yes we've book all our accommodation in advance via Booking.com, our trip was in November......we have wifi most of the time.
We have our route dotted and sleep in different locations.
We drove a circle in the island started in Alghero where we landed and return in the same place, we only have 5 days on this trip. The mountains area not to be miss, is a very winding road, but is a scenic drive
Thanks, Belinda. We're flying to Cagliari, from Rome - from Israel. We'll be in Sardegna two weeks, the first week our son will be with us, doing probably most of the driving. I always reserve the hotels through booking.com, but first of course we need our itinerary. As we'll have a car, I don't want to reserve the hotels too much in advance, in case of special sites or unexpected weather. I want to see the Nuragi, apparently from the time of the Philistines who conquered Israel, there are some archeological sites not far from my home that were probably built by them.
For landscapes I'm looking for mountains and dramatic rock shores (not beaches for swimming).
I see, where ever you landed in Sardinia as long you have a car, you can easily get around. Maybe reserve the first night in Cagliari, and see where you headed from there. Most hotel has wifi these days. Enjoy the beautiful island
Yes, that's our plan. We'll have to catch up on sleep - we start with an early flight, and need a long time to get to the airport.
