Is the drive from Alghero to Palau easy?

We are 3 girls renting a car and arrive at Alghero bit need to drive to Palau at night and was wondering of there are any mountains on the way or whether it is easy and relaxed driving.
Also where would you suggest we visit by car around Palau..we have 6 days there.

There's no mountain that way, but driving at night is very dark no street lights, so be careful and don't speed....

Things to do around:

If you don't mind driving more than 2 hours..... drive to *Central* Sardinia, there are lot of things to do "Orgosolo" is a very nice Mural painting town. Nuoro is surprisingly beautiful with nature

Driving to *Western* side is also worth a visit...Oristano is a pretty town, the old town dates back to the Middle Ages....

Bosa is a beautiful town with beautiful squares and colorful houses, but you maybe visit Bosa on your way back to Alghero, this is only less than hour from the capital

Enjoy your trip to Sadinia

Yeah I know, Malta drive on right hand side, it was for us adjusting too...we visited Malta 3 years ago and rented a car....

We hadn't much time in Palau we visited Sardinia on a November the weather isn't permitted on beach, checkout the beach in "La Sciumara"

Sardinia has good paved roads. St Teresa Gallura is just a short drive, is up to a harbor town , ferry from Corsica departs and arrives there.

You're welcome! Sardinia is a lovely island and less touristy than any part of Italy. And if you have a car is much easier to explore, there are so much to see and do. We weren't much into beaches we explore the whole island in 5 days. We have our accomodation book in different places. We drove long distance everyday even through the mountains, this is really beautiful part of the island
