Four days in Sardinia

We're going on a catamaran cruise in northeast Sardinia, flying into and out of Olbia.
We have four days before the cruise and need help figuring out what to do. Since we'll see lots of beaches and beautiful water on the cruise, we would like to see historical things and the "real" Sardinia. We plan on renting a car. Any suggestions?

There isn't a lot to see in terms of monuments. The main historical 'buildings' in Sardinia are the nuraghi. These are prehistorical complexe structures that you will find all over the island. Nuraghi are on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Sardinia is full of national parks. The drive through the Parco Nazionale del Golfo di Orosei e del Gennargento is awesome, with breathtaking views in the Supramonte mountains. Dorgali, Oliena and Orgosolo are some of the typical villages. You can make nice walks there, as well as in the Valle di Lanaitho.
Don't underestimate driving times if you take the smaller roads ... it goes very slow!

If you don't mind driving for hours there are so much to see in Sardinia....we also done the trip in 4 days starting from "Alghero", is nice walled city and nearby see "Neptune's Grotto"

We went to "Argentiera" former mining town is now like a ghost town

" Capo Testa" is very nice for rock formation

"Orgosolo" is beautiful little town with murals

"Bosa" is nice place, below is a beach but the old town is on the top this worth to see

"Castelsardo", a town on a hill top, beautiful to wander around

We have a quick stop in Olbia, there is nothing much to do except stroll around the center and see the shops and went to restaurant

If you can make your route in the island, you will see nature and culture.
