We are cruising with Celebrity on 02/15/15. We are arriving an 02/08/15 by air and are looking for accommodations until our cruise leaves on the 15th. What would you suggest considering we will taking in what San Juan has to offer.
Hi - we stayed a the Sheraton Old San Juan. Loved it. Not only was it directly across from the cruise terminal, it was in a great area of Old San Juan - easy walking distance to restaurants, sights, etc. Have a great cruise!
I have stayed there numerous times....granted....the majority of times, it was for work(but I kept going back.)
What Donna stated was correct. Right across from the terminal. Right in the heart of Old San Juan. Short walk to shopping/restaurants/bars. Taxis outside the hotel if you want to really explore the island. Casino in the hotel(get lucky and pay for your trip.)
The hotel is not a 5 star...but I had colleagues staying at luxury hotels further away from the action, I chose to stay at the Sheraton.
You can come out of the hotel, walk around the corner and be in the hear of OSJ. No cab needed! And it is pretty cool seeing the ships come in every morning when you wake up!
Oh...forgot about the sightseeing....explore the narrow and very colorful alleys of Old San Juan, Castillo de San Cristobal (fort), Castillo San Felipe del Morro (fort), stop in some of the churches, take a trip to the beach, and visit El Yunque National Forest (rain forest).
If you are staying for a full week, you might want something with a pool and/or a beach? We stayed at three different properties, two in Condado and one in Isla Verde. all thanks to last minute bidding on Priceline. We only stayed at each for 1 night precruise, of the three if I was staying a week, I'd go back to the Hilton Caribe but probably not the Radisson.

Before you book, you might also look at splitting your trip, I haven't really explored the other options on the island but I think a week in San Juan would be too much for me.
I second the Sheraton Old San Juan. Just stayed there over my honeymoon in June, and it was wonderful. It also really is a great location--right across from the port and we were able to walk to all the sights in Old San Juan--Castillo San Cristobal, El Morro, Paseo de la Princesa, shopping on Calle del Cristo and La Fortaleza Street, etc. By the way, we walked to Cafeteria Mallorca for breakfast every morning and ate at Punto de Vista Restaurant (just two blocks down from the Sheraton) multiple times. Those were our two favorite restaurants in all of Puerto Rico if you were looking for recommendations, and both are walking distance from the Sheraton. :)
