I'm Christina, 29 from London, UK. I'm visiting my (great) uncle in Salvador arriving on Friday 11th Jan 2013 and returning on Friday 23rd 2013. I'm travelling by myself and while I can do a few things with my uncle it would be nice to explore Bahia with people around my own age. There are some things you can't do with a 70yr old, go to clubs, actvities etc.
I'm happy to hang out with other tourists, expats, etc. I would just appreciate spending some of my time with some fun people.
I'll be staying in Bairro Nazaré. I have no idea how safe (or not) it is there or if it's close to any attractions but I'm happy to travel and do a bit of site seeing at the same time.
Hope to make new friends,
My dad was a hoot when he was 70. How well do you know your uncle? At 70 he might have enough money for really nice clubs and activities and be a lot of fun. My dad could dance better than anyone my age that I knew. He had been everywhere and done everything and was a great conversationalist too.
You can check the Virtual Tourist Meetings page and see if there is anything while you are there. If not, try setting up a meeting and see how many folks you can get together. That's a good way to meet VT members and make new friends. Click on the Virtual Tourist logo at the top left of the page and then scroll down nearly to the bottom. On the right you'll see MEETINGS and you can click on that.
Good luck and have fun.
Hi Christina! Guess you arrived already in SSA. Well me too I arrived 2 days ago. I started working in a pousada in Barra but unfortunatly I don't know that many people yet and I'm in a similar situation. My name is Angela Zingg, Swiss, 27 years. I'm up to clubbing and getting to know the area as well. In case of any doubts, my FB : Angela Zingg (I'm not fake;)) or just send me a text on [email]. Looking forward for ur reply! Cheers
