things to do in Oct

Hi Fellow VTers,
was hoping you could give me a few pointers. My family of 7(age from 2 to 90) will be visiting regina for a couple of days in oct(around 12th or 14th). Can you recommend a few places to visit ? especially any advice on scenic drives to see the fall colours etc. or even nice tourism sites.
unfortunately only there for 3 days(we are doing an 8 day tour of saskatoon, regina and winnipeg in that order).
thank you for your help in advance.
