My wife and I are visiting Amsterdam in May, 2012 and would like details of any trains from Amsterdam ( preferably Schipol Sirport area) to Venlo so we can visit the Floriade for 2 days, details of any Hotels in venlo would also be appreciated. The actual dates are 14th May to 16th May, 2012.
Thanking you in anticipation.
We are flying to Maastricht on July 27. Our arrival time is 20:45.
I've seen there is a bus service to the city center and we should take bus 59 departing at 21:23. Is this right? Are there other choices? Train?
Is the bus stop near the terminal?
Where can we buy tickets? on the bus?
BTW, a good area to book a hotel?
I would appreciate any advice.
Later this month we will be travelling to Holland and staying in Nijmegen for a week. The family consists of ourselves (two adults and a girl, 16 and a boy 13) and my parents. We will have a rental car and are eager to explore.
My parents were born in the Netherlands and speak the language... we will be visiting their birthplace in Noord Holland / Friesland but they've never visited Limburg (or Gelderland? for Arnhem and Nijmegen).
We all love history, cultural festivals, hiking, architecture, etc. I've received many tips from reading VT pages... if anyone could particularly recommend an event or exhibition thats not to be missed, we would welcome your suggestions!
A question about the Roman road (the Limes?) that was discovered recently near Utrecht? Can that be visited or is it still under excavation? We will be visiting Xanten in Germany so that would be a connection to the Roman history in the area. Any other suggestions?
I have another request for ideas to help my kids complete some special assignments for school while they are in Holland. I will post them in another Forum Post because this is so long already.
Thank you in advance for your ideas!
Hi VT members,
I was wondering if you can give me some advice on Zuid Limburg.
a) Is it easy to drive in Zuid Limburg on the hills?
b) Where should I go if I want to see hills set in beautiful landscapes for
photography and a super time for my dogs?
c) Do Slenaken and Gulpen have what I'm looking for? Amazing hilly landscapes?
d) Do you know how long the drive will be from Amsterdam?
is it easy to get from Duseldoor airport to Geleen, or Munstergeleen.
I have been told it might take 90 mins. Is this true? Would I take a train? or a Bus? Would I have to book in advance.
looking forward to getting helpful replies.
I'm travelling to Munstergeleen on 24 June. Am I right that I must fly to Eindhoven in Belgium? But how do I get to Munstergeleen from there? Is there a train / a bus? I really would welcome some help organising this trip.
Many thanks. MaryJo
I'm just new to the area and I love it here!!!
I've managed to find a great chiropractor, a good veterinary clinic, etc. etc. but I'm still looking for a good hairdresser who speaks English.
I'm in my 40's but I like current hairdos, and while I can't really go too wild, I don't want a conservative cut and colour either.
If anyone can suggest a really good hairdresser, I would appreciate it very much.
PS: I am willing to drive a bit further if necessary.
Do they have taxi or bus service from Maastricht to Brunssum?
Is there a bus from Heerlen to Brunssum? What route # goes to Center? How often does it leave? Thank you. I need the info by later today, if possible.
Does anyone know about train passes etc..? Aee there weekly and monthly passes? College student discounts? Fixed route discounts? etc..?I would like to stay in Hoensbroek and travel daily to Maastricht. I found a cheaper place to stay with more amenities and space in Hoensbroek versus Maastricht but of course if the transportation costs too much it outdoes the benefits of living outside of the city. A monthly train pass for a set route would be great but I don't find any mention of something like this on the train website. Are there any busses that make this trip as well?
Thanks for your help....
I will be visiting Limburg for two months next summer (July and August). I'm looking for accommodation for two people that has a kitchen (and preferably a telephone line as I will be working via internet).
Can anyone recommend any suitable accomodation or agency to find such accomodation? I'd like to be as close as possible to Geleen, where I will be visiting relatives, not more than a half-hour drive away. And as cheap as possible, of course!
Thank you very much for your help.
I was just wondering what the result of this search really means:
There are two Weert in the Netherlands:
And there are two more in Belgium, also in the "Provincie Limburg"?
Isn't there a little problem?
Does anyone know what's the rent for a 2-3 bedroom apartment/private house in the city center? How much is it out of the city (up to 10 minutes drive from the city)?
Thanks in advance..
Hello. I was wondering if anybody here knows if trains run to Brunssum (and if so, where from)? Namely, does anybody know whether Brunssum is connected by rail to surrounding Limburg cities like Heerlen, Merklebeek, Hoensbroek, etc.? I have checked , but Brunssum doesn't seem to show up in any of my search results. If anybody has any information regarding bus schedules to Brunssum from the above cities, I would appreciate it. Also, does anybody know any good alternatives to rental agencies like direkt wonen? I am hoping to complete my student teaching internship at AFCENT (i.e., a NATO base) and would like to find a rental without the steep costs involved with using direkt wonen. Perhaps searching in some classifieds in provincial Dutch newspapers for rentals is my best bet? (I am moderately fluent in Dutch) Any advice/information is welcome. Thank you, Chris
Hello, i'd like to know the best way to get to Weert from Maastricht or Amsterdam, i'm flying to amsterdam and i plan to take the train to maastricht... is this the best way? Train? Bus? thanks in advanced
Hello I just moved to Maastricht and will stay here for a few months. Anyone can suggest where is worth of a visit during the weekend(with car and willing to stay two nights out). Any idea appreciated!
