Can anybody tell me for how far the National Highway is paved (i.e. concrete surface)? I've heard so many different accounts including some horror stories!
I wish to drive my car (Toyota Rav4) from Puerto Princesa to El Nido. Accurate up-to-date information would really help with my planning.
Following the National Highway I travel northwards towards Taytay (I want to stop here on my return journey)........Then it gets a bit complicated.....
maybe this is ar case of my modern GPS mapping not being in-line with local tourist maps.
After Taytay my GPS tells me to take the EAST coast, BUT local (possibly old or even out-of-date) tourist maps say I approach El Nido via the WEST coast driving up via ABERAWAN and CORONG CORONG.
The tourist route is certainly the most direct, but have any recent road improvements resulted in the East coast GPS route being better?
Anybody know the answer?
I've emailed the tourist office in El Nido but nobody has replied!
