I'm wondering if Porto is hilly like Lisbon or is it nice and flat making it easier for older folks to walk around in.
My husband and I have an opportunity to stay in Porto from mid February to mid March. Does it make any sense weather wise to live there for one month or is it so cold no one is outdoors. Will there be any beauty renting a car and exploring the northern part of the country at that time.
I visited Porto a while ago and was very impressed, everyone was really nice and friendly, great atmosphere. So I am decided to move to Porto (at the moment i live near Lisbon), already gave a notice to the landlord and have to get out in 2 months time. I plan to stay for at least a year and may be even settle down there. Now the main question for me is where to rent a place, I work from home so there is no travel to the office, also I think I can afford to stay anywhere from financial perspective. I move alone, don't know anybody and plan to find some social circle and some friends. Also I am not very social person and I plan to change it :) So i would really appreciate some advises of which area to choose, first thought was to get a flat near University since it is close to the bars and clubs. Another possibility is Foz do Douro, i haven't been there but read many good things about it, still not sure if it is alive enough? The focus is to stay in a place where it would be easy to find something to do, place with more possibilities to meet people. Please let me know if you have any thoughts.
A little about me, I am a guy, 34 y.o., originally from Latvia but in the past years lived in various places in Europe, speak English and some Spanish, learning Portuguese.
Does anyone know if it is possible to cycle or push a bike over this bridge? My bike is very heavy (approx. 65kg) so difficult to carry up lots of steps. Coming from the south into the city.
Any suggestions for the cheapest walkable parking nearest the sites . Would prefer ticket type parking - not metered or pay and display as it is too easy to over run the parking and be fined

I have 2 nights booked, think I may want more. 5 nights free until 3 nights booked in Lisbon then back to the Azores. I realize asking anyone to tell me what to do in this time is ridiculous, but there are a few on here I really trust....Douro valley. my husband thinks Fatima, I think not, into Porto, out of Lisbon . Like the bike path answer that I cannot find anymore. Open to suggestions, I guess there was a VT meet in close area not too many years ago. A few towns have been mentioned on vt ..Batalha, alcobaca, nazare,obidos,.....I am asking advice.
We are in Lisbon, going to Porto tomorrow. I like to find places where the locals eat, which means while Trip Advisor has great reviews, going to the restaurants recommended often means eating with a lot of other American tourists. Any advice on getting good Portuguese food?

I'm travelling around Portugal this July and want to visit Porto. I'm going to be in my car, and have heard that parking and driving in Porto isn't that easy. I've looked in to parking on one of the streets near the main football stadium but am unsure if this is the best option? Are there any other alternatives that you recommend- I'm looking to spend probably the whole day in the city. Thanks
We are going to Furodouro, Ovar for a week during half term. Will there be much going on/open in the last week of May or is it too early in the season?
Any recommendations of bars/places to visit?
Hello. I'm flying from Porto to Montreal with 2 stops in Frankfurt and London Heathrow on December 17th. I'm 16 years-old, I have a Portuguese passport and I'm flying all alone! I've never flew alone in a flight with so many stops... the only time I flew alone was from Porto to Paris and it was quite simple (I didn't even need to go through passport control or anything).
All the connection flight are made at the same terminal. In Frankfurt it's in Terminal 1 and in London Heathrow it's in Terminal 2 and I only have 1h10-1h15. I'm flying with Lufthansa but London-Montreal is operated by Air Canada. I bought this fligh in a travel agency and I have a Lufthansa frequent flyer card.
I'm kinda nervous about having to do this, I've been on a flight with stops and connections so I'm a total beginner. Do I have enough time to connect between my flights? Where will I have to show my passport and go through security (since I've been told I don't need to go through customs from Porto to Frankfurt)? What if I lose a connection flight because of a delay or because I didn't have enough time to go through passport control and get to the gate? As a minor I'm quite nervous. Should I warn the flight attendant before I land in case I'm late for the next flight?
Thanks in advance!
