i am flying out of Phoenix which is an airport I've not been through previously. Can anyone advise ease of transfer from dropping off (Alamo) car hire and navigating through to Departures Terminal 3? I think it may involve a shuttle - if so how regularly do they run (6:30 - 7:30 am. Travelling alone so no one to share luggage humping with. Potentially I could check in car the night previous and use an airport hotel (would need transfer for that though?) but hoping that traffic will be reasonable at that hour in the morning on a Wednesday even if I had to navigate short stretch of I10 over Salt River? Also too early for breakfast at hotel so any suggestions in Terminal? Guessing that the shopping will be the usual gift oriented and duty free goodies - or should I save back some dollars - wishful thinking that I'll have any!
Hi, I'm travelling to Phoenix for the first time. I'm a 36 year old professional woman wanting to meet people. Where would be the best place to stay or hang out in the area?
Hi everyone, I'm looking for somewhere that has a really good nightlife that isn't mainstream e.g. (Las Vegas, Miami etc). Does Phoenix have a good nightlife?
We are planning a trip to Phoenix, Az. While there, we want to make a couple of day trips to Apache Junction and the Sonoran Desert. Which area of Phoenix would be the most convenient to stay, as far as easier access to these venues. We will only be there about 3 days before heading to another part of the state to see other points of interest. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Will be 3 days in Phoenix. Interested in archeological sites, history of area, interesting sites, and good food. Will have a car. Maybe a one day guided tour. Any suggestions?
We (healthy active couple in their 50s) are planning our first visit to Phoenix Feb. 15-19.
What could we see and do to cover the most of the sights and sounds? We have a wide range of interests (golf, pickleball, art, shopping, moderate to easy hiking, walking, crafts, markets, etc). We will have a rental car. We are staying at the Holiday Inn in Old Town Scottsdale. Checkout is on the 19th but our flight leaves at 8 pm so any ideas on what we could easily do that particular day before the car rental return @ 6 pm is appreciated too. We are not into the social scene or fine dining.
We will be coming to Phoenix for the Pro Bowl from Texas.
Yes, we know it is in Glendale, however, having NEVER BEEN to any part of Arizona to vacation, I am needing to know:
What is the best area of Phoenix to stay in… Downtown Phoenix, or Midtown area or …

Hi, we're looking at resorts in Scottsdale in August for family of 2 seniors, 2 adults, 2 kids (11 & 8). We are visiting from the UK and not driving. We need nice pools/ something for the kids, with dining options nearby and shopping a quick cab ride away. We plan to take tours to Tombstone, Apache Trail, Grand Canyon. Is this possible or am I expecting too much ? We have previously done Orlando and Anaheim/LA without a car. Thank you in advance
My daughter is moving to Phoenix for a sales job - turf Phoenix and points North.
Would appreciate any information on where best to live/rent/house share. She loves exercise and walkible areas.
I checked on the temp there in Phoenix and it says around 75 during the day while we're there. I'm from Georgia and we're in the 30's. Was wondering if jeans, t-shirt, light jacket would work just during the day or is it too warm there. Would casual clothes (jeans) work for going out for a nice dinner? Also, hiking the Piestewa Peak at 10:00am. Does it get pretty hot or windy on that hike? Just wondering if shorts would be best or hiking pants.
What is the weather like February 8 to 22. What typle of clothing do I need. Will I be able to sit by the pool
should i wear flip flops in july in Phoenix?
We will stay 3 days in Phoenix. Is Phoenix a city worth visiting. What can we do over there and what do we need to say. What is the best area to stay?
We enjoy antiques and staying in a b&b that isn't a cookie cutter style motel. Any suggestions for places in Phoenix, Glendale, Springerville or near Grand Canyon? We are newly retired, non smokers.
I have a layover this coming Friday (12th) from 9am ~ noon. Since I'll already have my bags checked, already have a boarding pass, and can cut to the front of the security lines due to mileage status, I was wondering if there is anything near the airport worthy of a short visit. It was a long time ago since I was in Phoenix so I'm going to say it all new to me. Any suggestions for ~2hrs?
If not, any VT'ers in the area interested in getting a breakfast? I know I will be arriving hungry and in the prime breakfast hour.
We are looking for a decent hotel to spend a Friday night that is near Sky Harbor Airport, with free shuttle service. We flew in to Phoenix last year and were dismayed by the area surrounding the airport, so much so, that we drove right past the hotel we booked online...very shady area...
So we are looking for recommendations for something clean, safe, convenient to the airport with free shuttle service, for around the100 price range.
With Tucson sorted, I'm now looking for hotel recommendations in downtown Phoenix. Would like to keep it under US$100; happy for a B&B or hotel. No transport so I'm reliant on public transport. Will be arriving by Arizona Shuttle to Sky Harbor and taking public transport in from there.
Look forward to hearing your recommendations.

We will be staying in Grand Canyon and then have 1 day to get down to Phoenix from Tusayan before our flight home. However, we will have no car and I can't seen to find any bus routes that do this journey. Help! Does anyone know of any bus trips (or trains or planes for that matter) to get us to Phoenix. Obviously we are looking for a cheap option if at all possible! Thanks.
Planning on taking my wife and teen daughter down to Phoenix area in mid March. Never been there and do not know the area. Just getting away from winter for a few days and did not want to deal with the spring break crowd so we picked Phoenix area. Any ideas on where to stay? Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks

Also, I would like any recommendations of anyone's favourite places to visit, acommodation and eating, as I am a student so need to keep costs to a minimum.
