My family is going on a trip to Canada in April, but one of our member's passport is expiring in September, which would put it into less than 6 months validity. The travel agency told us that the passport only needs to be valid until you leave Canada, so she would have no problem on the trip there. But I read online that the Philippines requires that the passport needs to be valid for more than 6 months to enter. Will she have problems entering back to the Philippines? She is a permanent resident in the PH but is a Chinese citizen. The problem is that the agency told her that the Chinese embassy will not renew her passport if it's still more than 6 months valid, so we really cannot renew it ahead of time.
What are the restrictions on someone with one felony in US to obtain a Visa in Philippines?
Is it dumb to visit both coron and elnido or should we visit one or the other and visit somewhere else? As it stands we have two nights in PP then four nights in El Nido then three nights in coron then one night in Oslob to swim with whale sharks and then two nights in Cebu where we will visit Bohol.
my wife and I are planning a 2 week visit in April and are looking to have a relaxed break only visiting 2 or 3 places, one of which will be Manila as we flying in/out of there.(we will come back again so no need to rush and try to see everything).
I have looked at a range of sites which present so many beautiful destinations that I am finding difficulty in identifying what would work best for us.In addition when I read a number of posts they present some places as being not quite as the brochures show (eg some of the posts below relating to Palawaan.
We are interested in being on picturesque beaches, seeing some cultural and historic sights and possibly doing some snorkelling/diving.
I would appreciate any thoughts from those who have visited or live in the Phillippines
does anyone know what would be the nearest beach resort from San fernando pampanga or Angeles City, Thanks mates
Anybody available to trek or travel in the Philippines with me?
I am a Filipino and lives here and is willing to show anyone around. Looking for a travel buddy.
I'm travelling to the Philippines in April, for the first time. I'm a bit of a hygiene freak, and I'm wondering if they sell Glen 20 in the Philippines? If not, am I allowed to take a spray can like Glen 20 in my luggage?
we are planning to hire a car and take a journey from Manila down to Donsol. Since we dont want to make it at one go, i am thinking of stopping by at various points of interests and staying 2 nights (in total) near them along the way. I plan to have one night at Taal volcano with the obvious trip to the crater and the other night somewhere half-way before reaching Donsol. I dont wish to stretch it, so that it means maximum around a 6-hour ride at a time.
Where would you make the other overnight stopover (with solid lodging options)? Im open to make overall 3 stopovers if it will make a sense.
As for the points of interests on the way, I was considering checking the Kamay ni Hesus Healing Church and passing through the hairpin road of Quezon National Forest. Anything else...maybe more intriguing?
thank you a lot for any input,
I'm planning to go maybe in the Philippines in winter and I'd like to visit some national parks. Of course I already thought about the nature reserves in Palawan but apart from that I've not so much ideas about the most scenic and rich national parks and reserves.
- I'm planning to go in Luzon, Palawan and probably on Mindoro, Bohol and Cebu. (Mindanao looks great but I've heard very preoccupying things about the social/religious situation there...)
- I love rainforest, hiking, mountains, volcanoes, etc... Can you suggest me some some nice natural places to have this kind of environment in the islands mentionned above.
- I saw breathtaking pictures of Apo Reef Natural Park but I can't get any information about it... How can I go there. Does it worth it? Or should I better try to stop in Coron Island from Palawan? Is there ferry between Palawan and Coron for affordable prices?
Thank you in advance :)
I'm planning to go maybe in Philippines in january-february and I'm facing a slight fear about the geographic aspect of this archipelago. I want to know a bit how to deal with the distance between each island I would like to visit. Naturally I'll arrive on Manila, so Luzon Island.
But after. Which islands would you suggest me to visit the most? I want to go of course of Palawan. I thing the best option there is the plane because it's pretty remote.
But othewise what about Cebu, Mindoro or Bohol. Is that easy to go from an island to another. Is there ferries with the possibility to take a car with. How does it work?
I would like to rent a car too. I mean I want to be really free. Is it possible to drive in Philippines (outside of Manila of course)?
Thank you a lot :)
I decided to fly to Manila dn meet up with a friend there. They only have 4 days free so I am looking for a nice beach are a which is not a days journey from Manila.

My 15 year old son (who knows everything about everything because he's 15!) has been invited to spend 2 weeks over Christmas with a school friend's family on the Island of Mindoro. After reading the British Embassy advice not to travel to Southern Philippines, of course as a mum I am so worried about the whole of the Philippines. Do you think it is very safe - I'd really love him to have this experience, but obviously not if he is in any danger at all? Thanks.

Hello, I am flying into Cebu with my two children from December 17th-December 28th. Can you suggest the best beaches that aren't too far away? A ferry is okay, but we don't want to take any more flights. Thanks!
Are there any stripclubs in or near balanga city?

I'm looking for recommendations and ideas to get the most out of our holiday. We fly into Cebu at the end of September & have 10 days before flying out again. We would like to do some scuba diving, snorkelling, island hopping & relax on the beach. Where's best to go?
All ideas are much appreciated.
I'm 20 year old and i'm looking for someone who can travel with me around Mindanao.
Hi just wanna ask if i am allowed to bring rice cooker as checked inn baggage via eithad airways?
I am travelling to Cambodia and the Philippines this summer.
I am staying a week in Cambodia, 3 days in Siem Reap and 4 days in Phnom Phen. Then I am going to the Philipines for almost two weeks, 6 days in Laoag and Pagudpud and then the rest of the time in Manila.
When I look at the Danish health department's guidelines for Malaria prophylaxis they recommend to take tablets but they then link to a malaria map on the national health services website for the UK, and when I look at that map the areas I am visiting has the "low to no risk, antimalaria is usually not advised" colour.
So I am a bit torn on what to do, does people normally take antimalaria tablets when travelling in these areas, or just make sure to use mozzie reppellant with DEET and proper clothing?
I am thinking theres always a risk that there will be a malaria infected mozzie in the area because you cant control where they fly, and I normally trust the travel advices of the health department.
Any advices from experienced travellers in these areas would be appreciated!
I want to visit the Phiipines next Feb/March for 2 weeks and need some ideas as to where to go. I like some beach/culture/history and being away from the tourist destinations. Also there are many islands so time could easily be absorbed in travelling around, which is not desireable.
So do I head for one island that has good beaches, local life, and some interesting places to see or maybe stay on the main island (as I will fly into Manila) and then visit another island for a week ?
Any Ideas would be most useful thank you.
I'm returning to the Philippines at the end of July and I know that I automatically get a 30 day visa upon my arrival, but I am going to be in the Philippines for 43 days and I will need a visa extension. Does anyone know if I can get the 59 day visa at the Manila airport upon my arrival
Our company is currently looking for the best venue to host our 5-day event. (October 9th-14th, 2016)
Ideally we are looking for a luxurious property type villla that we can rent. The place:
* should be easily accessible to the airport (to and from)
* has an exclusive Private Pool
* has a meeting room for 20 people
* Car & Driver
* 17-20 Beds Villa
* Kitchen and a Private CHEF like if someone requests for X-kind of meal or a complimentary breakfast offered by the venue owner
* meeting room for 20 people
Preferred But not Must
*a Private Beach
Looking forward to your suggestions.
