Question about walking street bars

Just wondering if on walking street there are wine bars or other bars/restaurants that aren't sex oriented? Like you can just go sit and have a drink, people watch.

Yes, on Walking Street you will find some "BEER BARS" where you can sit and watch people. Walking Street is a small part of Pattaya nightlife, maybe the most expensive though. The seats and small tables are set up so you face the street area. (No vehicles, just foot traffic.) Beer bars have cheaper alcohol than nightclubs and go-go bars. But wine is not usually cheap compared to US/Canada type prices. Try a "SPY" wine cooler, it is not too expensive.

Look at the map below. From just above the Dolphin Statue at North Pattaya, down to Walking Street you will find more nightlife, usually cheaper than Walking Street. (Sai Song and Pattaya Beach Road and near side sois.) There are some beer bars where you can sit and watch people pass by, crazy drunk tourists on motorbikes only minutes away from an accident, hookers, beggars, all sorts of humanity! Also some restaurants you can sit at and watch "stuff!" Kiss Restaurant is open sided, across from Mike Mall, you can see stuff from there and eat cheap. Nearby are some beer bars you can sit at on Sai Song.

Local transportation in the Pattaya City area is only 10 baht. You wave a moving baht bus over, then hop on, push bell to stop the truck. Get off pay 10 baht! If you tell the driver where to go you pay a custom price. If you are at an expensive hotel your price could be quite a bit more than if you were outside a cheap hotel! Hop on a baht bus and ride the circuit up Sai Song to the Dolphin, get off and pay 10 baht. Then walk down to Pattaya Beach Road in 2 minutes and get another moving baht bus going down Beach Road. You get to scope out the lay of the land for cheap. Beach Road and Sai Song are one way. Sai Song goes North and Beach Road goes South. You walk the smaller side sois.

Have fun.

Lots of modern malls in Pattaya City area. Many are on Sai Song and Beach Road. Some are on North Pattaya Road, Pattaya Central Road and South Pattaya Road too.

When you are on a baht bus and you need to go up another street - like Central Pattaya Road, you push bell, pay driver the 10 baht and then wave a different baht bus over going in the direction you need. Baht buses do set routes. Probably the cheapest ride a tourist can get in Thailand unless someone is carrying you over his shoulder!

yes there are some fine restaurants and bars on walking street. it is what it is and you can look the other way or go the other way, but if you want that adventure of going to Pattaya, you will see it all....and then there are restaurants and bars that will cater to your needs. Have a open mind, please.

Basically none of the restaurants 'On there own' are sex oriented even on walking street which is very much that!! Where applicable sit outside and soak in what is an incredible vibrant atmosphere while remaining in the restaurant comfort zone. One of many places I would there recommend is Cowboy Steak where you sit in a terrace.
For the bars, I would recommend any which has outside seating on a balcony upstairs. Just look up and take your pick.
