Everything within the Paris "peripherie" is covered by the carnet and that includes the 10th arrendissement. You will need a separate ticket from the airport though but that ticket is good for getting to your hotel without having to use a carnet ticket.

Ditto on the way back to the airport - you need to buy a separate ticket for the airport but that is good from whatever Metro you buy it from.

Hi. You are fine in the 10th. Don't confuse transportation zones with arrondissement numbers. Your basic metro ticket (1.80 euros each or 14.40 for a carnet or package of tickets) is good for arrondissements 1 through 20 because this is transportation zone 1.

We always get a carnet of ten tickets and share them. There are all kinds of passes available but we walk a lot so it makes no sense for us to buy a pass but you may feel differently. Here is information about all the passes and prices. [original VT link]

Enjoy Paris.

As I love travelling with the Metro, I used to buy a day ticket and use it as much as possible...
Paris turn out to be a small village if you taste the Metro-surfing in the city of Light.
