Could you suggest me some day trips from Orvieto by train or bus; please?
Take a map of Umbria and explore all small towns in the province, plus Lake Trasimeno.
Google a bit would be another suitable reply.
Thanks a bunch!
Or: there is this absolutely fantastic website called Virtualtourist where members write about all different destinations :-) Their Umbria travel guide is here:
[original VT link]
Including a nice map :-)
I've read some pages on Orvieto Ingrid, but I still haven't read anything about day trips from there.
I usually read several tips about places here on VT. I write tips myself.
You could use the map on the Umbria travel guide to see which locations are nearby and then read what the others wrote about these.
Hello Maurizio, Hope all is well with you.......d:o)
It has been a while for me but I certainly remember this unique hill town. A lot of people do day trips from Rome to Orvieto, but locally, it appears that most of the exploring is done on foot or bike, but there are some done by car in the nearby hills.
Civita de Bagnoregio is worth a visit, so is Citta della Piave. Parrano is quite nice as well. (A canoe trip is very cool).
I had to look to remember the details, but here is a page with all the possibilities, with times both walking, biking and driving. Good luck compadre. Have a grand time........d:o)
Oh well, where is PJ when we need him :-)
Maurizio, on Orvieto's website is a whole set of different itineraries what to do from Orvieto. Your Italian is certainly better than mine :-)
Ah ah Ingrid. Your German is way better than mine!
Yes, Maurizio, but your question is about Orvieto, which is an Italian town with a website in Italian and not a German town with a website in German :-)
Vielen Danke und froehe Weinachten!
