We visited Oak Alley this past week for a very nice tour. Then last night while watching TV on the Travel Channel Oak Alley was listed as the #1 haunted place in America. We found this curious as nothing was mentioned while we were at the plantation about the haunted history. Although, while we were there they asked us not to take any photographs in the house, we wondered why, they told us it was for security reasons. After learning of the ghost sightings we found that one of the most notable sightings was actually on film from a visitor. We feel that the haunted history just adds charm to the plantation and we were curious as to why they did not mention anything about it in their tours.
