I have booked for a 8days tourist trip to Dominican Republic, and is my first time travelling out
what am I going to show in the airport before travelling? eg documents. am from nigeria. Thanks
The usual airport procedure is to show a valid passport with, if necessary, a visa for the country to which you are travelling (I believe Nigerian citizens need a tourist visa to enter the Domenican Republic) plus your ticket/eticket to the check-in counter staff. It is also usual to show passport and boarding pass to staff at security and at the gate.
I'd note that I have not flown from Nigeria so it is possible that practices may vary.
thank very much leics. to nigerians, the country is visa free for 21 days. and I will be there for just 7days. I hope the won't be asking for visa?
what do you mean by boarding pass pls
If you are certain that Nigerians can enter the Dom Rep without a visa for up to 21 days then you do not need to worry.
I am not a visa expert. I can only tell you that the official Dom Rep embassy website in the UK says:
>Nationals of all other countries not listed in the Tourist Card section and not in possession of a valid visa for the United States, Canada or any European country, must obtain a Tourist Visa.
Nigeria is not listed in the Tourist Card section:
But visa regulations can and do change, and even official websites are not always updated regularly. If you are concerned you should contact the Dom Rep consulate or embassy in Nigeria (if there is one) to check.
A 'boarding pass' is the piece of paper or card that is given to you when you check in at the airport (or that you print out if you check in online). It shows your name, your booking number, your flight information and your seat number. You must keep it safely with you and show it to staff when asked, usually at security and at the gate but sometimes when you actually enter the plane as well.
Perhaps you can let us know what happens?
No, I do not mean itinerary.
'Boarding' means getting onto a plane (or a ship or a train). Your 'itinerary' is the route you will take.
A boarding pass allows you to board the plane. It links you with the flight booking you made and shows that you have checked-in and had your documents and hold baggage checked.
Thanks very much sir. I really appreciate it
You are welcome.
