Road Trip

I am planning a Road trip driving from Boston through to Niagara. Would this be crazy to try and do this journey in the 1 day when we have a 6 & 15 year old in the car. If crazy can anybody suggest some nice stop overs's for a family.

driving distance is almost 500 miles, figure 8-8.5 hours on the expessways, doable in one long day. halfway is Schenectady new York. there are places one can stop along the way like lenox and stockbridge in Massachusetts or Saratoga springs in new York but they will add considerable time to your trip, may prevent it being a one day trip. further west, the finger lakes again a trip from the highway.

generally, a boring trip - suggest just getting in the car and driving till you arrive.
