Can anyone make any suggestions as to what one can do on New Years Eve in New Delhi?
We will have arrived into New Delhi on December 30th and was wondering if there are any particular NYE celebrations that take place in the city. Any suggestions are welcome.

The Connaught place in the Central part of Delhi is the must visit part during new year eve. Apart from several functions, shoppers also finds it heaven due to the special new year discount process generally followed by shopkeepers. At 12, the whole CP gets dark(without light) for 1 second and after that it announces the welcoming of new year.

Delhiites enjoys new year in their own special way. Some prefer to drink, so some prefers to dance and party. Some of the best nightclubs in New Delhi include the Blue Bar in the Taj Palace hotel, the G Bar at the Grand, Keya and Shroom. One of the most notable places for the New Year’s Eve events is the Ashoka hotel. One thing to keep in mind is that many places don't allow single men to enter by themselves unless they are a part of a bigger group. In other words, if you're single you'll want to find a way to get into these places ahead of time.

Besides what mamtap has mentioned above, the newspapers will be full of advertisements of various festivities on the day of your arrival into New Delhi. All these festivities will be rather expensive (by Indian standards) but are meant to keep out the riff-raff. Owing to several cases of unruly behaviour in the past, the streets will be crawling with policemen and police cars.

As the staff at the reception of your hotel for further inputs.
