New Delhi

hotel in New Delhi

Hi there I my mom and I will be arriving in Delhi late and we want to book a safe reputable hotel for two nights before hooking up with our tour group. It's our first time to India and we want a hotel that's easy to find, clean and especially safe for women preferably a 4 star with free airport transfers and wifi. Do you have any suggestions? I have been told that the hotel rating on trip advisor are mostly false and written by scammers

Hi - my favorite hotel in Delhi was the Lalit (really nice) - thelalit.com/the-lalit-new-d.... You can book directly online. I don't recall if the transfers were free but you can arrange for the hotel to have a car pick you up. However, It is perfectly safe to take a pre-paid taxi from the airport, which will cost less. I would not say that the ratings are mostly false on TA, although there are some. You can usually weed out the best and the worst, and the truth will lay somewhere in between.

I just want to back up what Donna said. By all means read her stuff. It is immensely informative. I know India from top to bottom, but Donna has up-to-date information I no longer have. You would do well by studying her pages on India........d:o)

I can however promise that you will have a wonderful, and possibly life changing time while in India.

In NOvember I am going to make my 8th visit to Delhi.

I always stay at this B&B, and I absolutely recommend it
I always take a pre-paid taxi from the airport, and it costs around IR400-500 . Pre paid taxi is best, because you don't get scammed re cost. The pre-paid taxi booth is inside the airport, near main exit. You pay, and give the address to the taxi driver (there is a special pre-paid taxi stand outside exit) and when you arrive at your address, just give him the pre-paid reciept. You can give him a small tip ( IR40) if he helps with your luggage

Hotels in Delhi can be..............unpredictable, and you do not always get what you expect

You could read my Delhi page for more tips (scroll down page)

Hi.. We are also first timers going to India and booked the JW Marriott Aerocity for the two days before our tour starts. It is near to the airport, has wi-fi and airport transfers.

It might not have the same ambiance as some of the others, but we felt we would stick our toes in the water rather then diving right in. :-)

My colleagues booked me into the JW in Mumbai during my first trip to India. Beautiful place but It was barely sticking my toes in. :-) It will give you time to settle in and adjust but hopefully you'll venture out...although it's pretty far from the sights.... Enjoy!!

I feel Happy to INFORM that lots of Good 4 star hotels has come up at New Delhi AIRPORT ..within campus only....One is IBIS DELHI AIRPORT , Asset no 9 Hospitality,District Delhi Aerocity,IGI Airport
110037 NEW DELHI,INDIA...
"Ibis Delhi Airport Hotel welcomes you to Delhi Aerocity between Terminal 1 and 3 with Free Airport Transfer, Hi-Speed WIFI access and soundproof rooms. Round-the-clock room service, midnight snacks and tempting express breakfast makes business travel expedient at ibis. Eat at the explicit alfresco dinning with gazebos, relax in the heated swimming pool, and feast at the Live Kitchen amid city's panoramic or poolside view rooms. It is more than a homecoming with the exclusive pet-friendly hotel.". Its too cheap and PRESTIGIOUS ACCOR GROUP HOTEL....so no worry of late night...as it is at The Airport..
