The area around Greyhound station

I´m planning to arrive at Greyhound Lines, Inc, 709 5th Ave S in Nashville in late July, a late afternoon (about 6 PM) Never been to Nashville before.

Is the station a safe area to arrive at? Would you say that the station is in the central parts of the city? If not, what is the easiest way to get to the central parts from the bus station?

Is the central parts of Nashville generally a safe city to hang around in?

You will probably need a taxi from the bus station but there might be transportation, I have put the link on another post - always pays to check back posts. Or google public transportation in Nashville. It will be light at that time in July, just use normal precautions, the center is ok. North Nashville is the problematic area but you would not usually go there anyway. Enjoy!
