We are planning to do a three-week-trip to Namibia in October. And we would like to do a tour to the Himbas. But I heard that the one day tour offered by Palmwag Lodge is not worth the money (about NAD 1100 per person). I suppose it is that expensive because of the long distance to drive by 4x4 (cost for petrol, driver etc.). So now I am looking for a Himba tour. I found Oasis Guest House near Kamanjab, which offers a 3 hour tour a Himba community. It cost only NAD 250 per person, because it is approx. 20 km near Kamanjab (no long distance to drive). Does anybody know about this tour. Is it recommandable. I would appreciate any advice. I do not see it as a human zoo, but we think to visit a country also means to get in touch with the people. And we would really like to see how they deal with the daily life out there and would like to hear about their habits and believes.
