Is there any service, drivers, limo, shuttle, between Pittsburgh airport and Morgantown? We may need a ride from Morgantown to Pittsburg airport or just a ride from the airport to Morgantown. Young teen coming in to stay with grandparents. Needs to be picked up.
Why is he flying into Pittsburgh? I just did a lookup on Google Maps for Morgantown (I work in Pittsburgh sometimes) ... but Morgantown is much more closer to Philadelphia. The transfer should be much easier. Looks like Pitt will be close to a 4-hour drive, vs. close to a 1-hr rive in Philadelphia - if the Google search I did is accurate.
I'm sure they are talking about Morgantown, West Virginia and not Morgantown, Pennsylvania. There is an active VT member who is in the armed forces who went to school in Morgantown. I'll find out her name and post it here. You can send her an email and she might be able to assist you better.
The VT member who may be able to help you is Allison. Here VT name is Aloe9678. You can go to her page and click on the email me link to send her an email.
Awww ... that would make more sense. Wrong Morgantown, apologies.
Morgantown, WV is about 60-90 minutes from the Pittsburgh airport. You should see if West Virginia University (located in Morgantown) has a shuttle bus that is open to the public, or if they know of a shuttle.
Air flight to and from Morgantown is by http://www.colganair.com/ Colgan Air and the passenger flights basically go to Washington, DC. Pittsburgh from Washington DC. would have to be a separate carrier.
That is a long route between Morgantown and Pittsburgh. Renting a car would be a lot cheaper and more comfortable and faster. And also (as already mentioned) you can get a bus service also which is even cheaper (although maybe not as fast).
Unfortunately, as I was telling RioRich, I'm from Edinboro, PA, so when I was a student at WVU I never really had this issue since I never flew in to Pittsburgh to get to Mo'town. (I do love the Pittsburgh airport though!)
However, I have had a similar problem in Florida, when I fly into JAX to visit my grandma in Palm Coast, so I feel your pain. I just checked PIT's Web site for you, and there's a scheduled service operator called Mountain Line Transit that goes between PIT and Morgantown. Their # is (304) 296-3680.
Here's the link to the ground transportation page; there may be another provider:
Have fun with the grandkid!
