We are going to Mont Saint Michel from Paris, plan to stay there for one night, then go to Bayeux the next day. Are there buses or other transportation we can use to get to Bayeux from Mont Saint Michel.
Any information is appreciated.
I am planning a trip to Mont St-Michel which requires onward travel to Roscoff to catch the Plymouth ferry.
The rail connections via Rennes do not quite work!
Can anyone suggest an alternative (e.g. bus or coach service ) from MSM to a station on the Rennes-Morlaix TGV line?
I am planning to visit MSM on September 2, 2015. On the official site it days that the height of the water will be over 12.90 by 10.25AM. I am arriving MSM at 10.45AM. Does it mean that the entrance be closed by water? How long do I have to wait to enter?
My wife and me would like to visit Mont Saint michel in mid July 2015.
We would like to look at the beautiful night view of Mont Saint Michel, however, there would not be any bus from MSM to Rennes at night. So, can anyone tell us, how much is it if we catch a taxi from MSM to Rennes? And is it hard to find a taxi at night? Will that be any other way to go back to rennes at night since my wife and me don't have a driving licence.
We would be grateful for your information. Thanks.
I'm going to be in La Chapelle-Fortin in September for a wedding, and I would love to take a side trip to see MSM. What is the best (cheapest) way to get there from this location? I will not have a car.
Also, I'm planning to arrive mid afternoon, and I'm debating as to whether I should stay there for the night, or go back across the bay to take in the night views of MSM. I'd love everyone's opinions. Thanks!
We would like (2 people) to visit Mont Saint michel in early October 2015
Can anyone tell us, the best way to get there from Paris by public transport?
Would the weather be likely to be okay or is it too late in the season?
Best place to stay near by when on a budget.
We would be grateful for any info. Thanks.
My wife and I are planning to take a taxi from either St Malo or from the Dol De Bretagne train station at about 1 PM in May to go to Mont St Michel (no bus connections seem to be available at that time).
Are the taxis easily available in these cities to go to Mont St Michel or one needs to book one in advance? Any other related advice will also be appreciated.
We are looking to travel to Mont St. Michel from Paris via Pontorson on May 9 (Sat). Does anyone know how late the shuttle runs from Pontorson for that day? We won't be able to leave Paris until after 3pm so the high speed trains to Rennes and Dol De Bretagne won't work for us as the shuttles stop after 4:45 and requires us to leave around 2pm from Paris. Any help would be greatly appreciated! :)
Hi, we (wife and I) are planning to visit in May 2015, driving from Paris via Ponfleur, Normandy d-day beaches and so arriving at the Mont late afternoon. Is it possible to 'see the sites' of the Mont in the evening - I have heard about an evening tour but not found details of hours, or what time of year it operates...
We plan to stay the night, either on the Mont, and nearby on the mainland. Do you have any advice/recommendations?
Hello, my friends!
We´ll be in France in April 2015. I was checking our schedule and just realized we´ll be visiting Mont St. Michel exactly on the Easter Sunday.
Is that a problem? Is there any celebration that usually takes place there in this holiday?
Thank you very much for your help!
Best regards from Brazil!
I'm planing an overnight trip to Mont Saint Micheal on 23rd to 24th October 14. My plan is to get the 7.00 am train from Montparnasse station and then catch a bus from Rennes to Mont Saint. I will stay one night there in the hotel close to MSM (Au Berg De La Baie). The next monring I will go back to Rennes and spend a half day there before going back to Paris. My questions are :
- Do I have to go back to the bus stop at Mont Saint Michael again to catch the bus to Rennes? Are there any other bus stops?
- How can I know the time table of the bus ?
- For Rennes sight seeing. Do you think 2-3 hrs is enough ? (I plan to catch 16.00 train from Rennes to Paris.)
Thank you very much.
Is it possible to access Mt. St. Michel either on high and low tide? Is there a bridge or something to do so?
Hi, my flight will arrive near 10am to Charles De Gaulle, Paris and my next flight will depart on the next day (I must be at the airport by 6pm aprox). Do you think it will be possible to visit Mt. St Michel?
I was thinking of going straight from the airport to St Michel, maybe spend the night there and the next morning (very early) take the train back to Paris to walk a little bit near the Eiffel Tower and then go to the airport.
Please I need advise. Thank you!!!
How safe is the parking at MSM? I will be parking a car full of luggage while we visit. Is it best to visit on Sunday afternoon or Monday morning? It will be early September.
Are there 2- or 3-day tours from Paris to Mont Saint Michel where we can spend the night in St. Michel
Is it possible to use the shuttle service around 11am to
get to the fort?
We are planning to travel Mont Michel from St. Malo on 14th, Sept, 2014. As 14th is Sunday, I am wondering is there still a regular bus service running from St. malo to mont michel? Many thanks!
we would like to spend the day in Dol de Bretaine when we arrive from Paris (avoiding the daytime crowds at Le Mont), but see that there is only one bus from the TGV to Le Mont (1040) during the week. Is a taxi the only other way to commute to Mont St Michel later in the day, or is there a local bus system that can be used
Also, where can I find the bus schedule TO Dol de Bretaine from Mont St Michel for our departure to Paris the next morning
after the high tide comes in the morning for how long is the bay covered with water? approx how long is the bay dry?i understand there is another high tide in the evening?
has anyone walked from Mont St. Michel to Chartres?
I have NO car and will need to use Public Transport......I want to plan a trip to see Mont St Michel, Bayeaux (possibly??) I have a few days to spend. And then spend a few days in the Loire Valley -see the chateaux (but NOT overkill) and enjoy the areas. From there i would like to go to Provence (not sure where to base in Provence), but have about a week to spend in Provence. Any suggestions??
I would greatly appreciate Thank you in advance....
Our group is visiting Mont St. Michel on 9/24/13. I've read some unfavorable comments regarding the crowds and distances people had to walk to get to the shuttle. I also read if you are staying in a hotel/motel in the La Caserne area you can park at your hotel and just walk to shuttle, but you need to get an access code. We have reservations at Hotel Le Beauvoir because we could not get into Hotel le Relais du Roy. Is it in the Lacaserne area, if not, what should we expect? Honor Branch, Baltimore, MD
From the Mont Saint Michel it seems that tomorrow there is not tide difference to see. Is that true?
Due to a strike (and a long dispute...), the Abbey is closed to visitors, at least until wednesday. BUT YOU CAN STILL VISIT THE MOUNT!
I'm sure this has been answered previously and I will certainly seek info from the actual site as my trip gets closer (11/13) but should I take one of the tours of the abbey or just spend a few hours freestyle? I don't want to tie up several hours with a tour---wondering if they offer a variety of tours or one size fits all? Thoughts, anyone? Thank you!
I am planning a day trip from Paris to Mont Saint Michel---I'm seeking the fastest & quickest way to get me there--assuming that would be the high speed train that goes to Rennes & then the 37 mile bus ride to MSM--is that correct?
Also, how do I coordinate my return trip via bus to train ---? Do the train/bus vary greatly during the non-tourist season?
Are there any private guides that have a good reputation and will pick up and return to the Rennes station and give a guided abbey tour. I have pregnant daughter and we want to avoid the long bus ride from paris for a day trip to MSM
I am overnighting in Mont St Michel this Friday night and have looked at all the train/bus schedules to Rennes from where I HAVE to catch the 9h05 TGV back to Paris. There are no trains/buses available to get me there on time. Are there any other options or must I book a private car?
We are independent travelers and want to know if we have to book tickets in advance to se Mont Saint Michel. Merci!!
What is the best way to do an overnight trip in Mont San Michel, to and from Paris? Please, no car!
